In retrospect I killed an hour on the TOB, an hour on the downpipe and an hour trying to get the trans motor mount to come out of it's holder. Then another hour trying to figure out how to remove the gear stacks and shifter rails to get the differential out. I think I could have had the whole thing done in 10 or so hours on the first try if I hadn't got hung up on the little things. In the future never bother with the TOB, just unscrew the pressure plates 6 12 MM bolts through the shift fork opening one at a time. Rotate the crank, unscrew one, let it fall then rotate it some more until the next bolt is accessible. That took 15 minutes as opposed to the hour of wasted time on unclipping the bearing.
In retrospect, you feel like you could do it in half that time, right? I think I spent 2-3 hours disassembling the damn shifter linkages, when all I had to do was unbolt 3 bolts and just remove the whole bracket itself. Effing c-clips wouldnt pop off etc. Oh, and also not having a slide hammer was a *****. Took me about 5 hours trying to fab up a slide hammer!

I'm thinking about reverting everything back to stock for the upcoming event. Actually, thats pretty much just putting back stock suspension and taking off the coils. Should I even bother?

at the last event, everyone was telling me to run as stock as possible as a base point. Then upgrade from there.

yes, its always good to start off bone-stock, but if you have mods already there really is no sense in removing them unless you're trying to run in a specific class. the reason people were telling you to runs stock is because a stock EVO is still more car than 99.98% of the population can drive @ 10/10ths, so adding more power/handeling is a waste of money when you're starting out.

yeah andy at my first event i was too good of a driver for my stock suspension (ask marc) and need to upgrade. j/k but i can see where i'd like my stock suspension improved. i just don't have the skill to get full use out of it.

You know in part two, when he barrel rolls the Audi to get the bomb off with the hook? I heard Dan did some thing similar in his Evo, but he actually climbed out of the car while it was rolling over, took the bomb off by hand, got back in and landed the car.
