thats the opposite of what the BMW club racers I've talked to have told me. Aside from a miata, an older 3 series is about a cheap is it get to start wheel to wheel racing. The motors and trans last a very long time and their consumable parts are dirt cheap too. Not to mention the are very good handeling cars.

she made a good choice. chau and i were talking on saturday about how it makes basically the same power of an e36 m3 and it is the base bmw.

happy friday. i have off. i was just called by otto's bmw saying they adjusted the headlight and will be performing a free "oil service" and will rotate and balance the tires for the low low price of $98. oh and they're going to wash it too. that's a bit of a different experience than mitsu.
With your past comments it just sounded to me like you were a little biased towards the X. I can't blame you with all that power you have, but I didn't want you to overlook other exceptional car you have in your stable. I think it be a hoot if you and your wife both came to an AX. her in the bimmer and you in the X... I wonder who would fair better???

im gona go ahead and say the bimmer would fair better!

yea there cheap to get into racing for sure, and great handling cars. very easy to go fast and feel very balanced. my buddy has a E36 m3 turbo with about 500whp, super fun car to drive. but i was saying things much like dan is saying, nothing is cheap and all the electronics can cause problems. again, just from family/friends experiences, but cant judge an entire manufacturer by a few mishaps.

i would love to have the new M3. I hated it at first, now i think a white one with Carbon fibre accents and red interior would be the sex

I think BMW are great cars. Parts really aren't anymore expensive than other makes of the same class. Anyone needing bimmer parts should talk to Chau.

The washing is typical for BMW dealers Dan. They wash every car after getting serviced. I think it's starting to catch on though. My girlfreind said the Honda dealership down her has washed her car everytime she brought it in, even for warrantee services.

I agree with Marc on the older BMWs being good track cars, expecially the E30...thats why I have one! I would not mind owning a BMW from 1990 to 1998. Love the styling, good power, great handling, and relatively cheap now.

Ryan, problems can't be that bad! Manufacturers don't make a name for themselves by making defective products. I know a ton of people driving bimmers without a criticism. When you start tinkering with it, thats another story. But thats with anything.

thanks marc. i really like the 3 series. i offered autox to her but she isn't interested. i'd be interested to see how it would do. the steering is so stiff and it feels like a pig in the corners but doesn't give up grip easily (that's just street driving).

i think the tone you picked up from me may have been my brushing off the flack i've been catching for buying a car usually associated with douche bag drivers.

you mean thrusting.

that was a story i told chu about when i asked my wife if she's floored in the beemer yet and she said she "doesn't like to because it does this weird thrusting thing." she's not a car girl at all.

haha nah man. its built on a hill so you can pull around the back and pull 2-3 cars in along with all the tractors and stuff. then the main level )level with the driveway) has two big spots for suburbans and then the lift, then up stairs is like a guest house area with full kitchen/bath. i want to live there haha

I figured it was like a bank barn or something like that.

I'm going to build something similar, but 2 stories, no lift/tv/kitchen

that will be sweet dude. but if your going to do it you might as well do it big and throw a lift in there. not toooo pricey and well worth it. i think the kitchen and bath had more to do with getting the zoning permits through the system faster. and maybe approval from the wife haha

Lifts are fairly cheap if you have the headroom for the car. The lifts at EM2 was alittle over $3k installed. Nice lifts too

I few pages back we were talking about BBQ's

Im pushing for a french creek bbq/cruise.

I can meet all you city folk at the D-town exit of the turnpike and we can have a great cruise out to the park (1/2 hour windy roads and 45mph speed limits)

Chu has been on my roads and knows the deal

We could also go 5mins down the road to St Petes. (Swimming, rocks, cliffs)

We have done cruises before and they worked out well. I know a few good roads

It would be great to bring wives, kids, dogs all that for a great day in the park

It could be a sweet deal..................................just sayin'
