Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Well, the car came back from Nate, and the final numbers were right around 500/500. It pulls like no other from a dig, first gear Is crazy fast. Need to get it to mike for inspection alignment and wheel bearing. The FMIC and injen pipes are really holding the car back, Nate thinks we can squeeze at least another 20hp out with a decent 4 inch setup. I need to save up a little bit though. I wanted to get the lip replaced, wing removed and get a total paint and interior detail. I need to decide more power or give the looks a boost... Thoughts?
fresh lip for me as well...
btw: thanks metalsaber

I am going with the SE lip. Not a fan of huge lips, but I do like yours Pab. I actually looked at the dyno graph and it was 480hp/500tq. I would probably gain the extra 20 with taking the HFC off and puttin the test pipe on and installing some other random parts I have here. The tune was pretty conservative by Nate, I just looked at it. It is quality though, that is for sure. Really smooth and the power is adequate for anything I would ever need/want on the street. I just saw Canexican at Baierl with Mike and ordered the SE lip and the other parts for the body, then I will get it all installed, painted and the entire outside buffed and detailed. Somewhere down the line I might get an intercooler, but for now I think I will just enjoy the car.
It is loud though. Like the idle is a little rough for my taste. I don't know what to do either, the ARC catback exhaust is one of the quietist I have ever heard on our cars and with it installed and a HFC it is still loud. Not sure how to quiet it up at this point. I was going to get someone to add a resonator in the downpipe but I am just not sure if there will be enough room for it. I won't cut and weld the Titanium on the exhaust, though. If it came to that I would just sell the cat-back and go for something else, don't know what could possibly be quieter though.
I have to get the undertray put back on and these odds and ends fixed (wheel bearing, alignment, etc.) before I can really try and track the car hard. I am going to try and make it out for the event on Sunday, sounds like a great cause.

Nate likes to keep drive ability a must if your not making it a straight track car.
contact him, im sure there is a reason behind it!
Its a beatrush undertray. I just like having things covered up from underneath. Now that everything in the engine bay is basically 100% new I would like to keep it clean for as long as possible.
What's a guy to do????
I think I'm earning the reputation of the slowest Evo in the area. When I first got me Evo, my friend from work showed me that his 04 evo VIII is slightly faster. The other night, I ran into Jeff (aka blueberry) who showed me his X is WAY faster than mine. Now just today, some young guy in a 92 Typhoon, showed me he was also waaaaay faster than me. I'm not representing the X very well am I?
Disclaimer: I do not advocate street racing. These were just friendly little meetings.

I'm pretty bummed I'm gonna miss this great event at north park but I gotta work. I hope there is a good turn out and that Morgan can raise alot of money for a good cause. On top of that I hope for the best weather.

Might be a good option to look in to but with your build the "loudness" may be unavoidable...I guess that's the price one has to pay for monster HP
whats the age requirement for pittsbugh raceway park?? i tried to find it on their site but couldn't. I was wondering if it was 18 and up or 16 and must sign a waiver. And northpark i think is 17 and waiver?? correct me if I'm wrong!! thanks
I have the stainless steel RRE "stealth" catback...pretty basic 3" catback with 2 resonators but even with the testpipe (fake cat) it is very very quiet.

I might have my expectations set too high though. A 500/500 car that is quiet and can be a daily driver while keeping those power levels might be unattainable. I won't butcher the Ti of my exhaust though. If need be I will just sell it for something more manageable. I want to find its replacement with 100% certainty before I let this exhaust go though. They are so rare and at WOT and cruise it sounds amazing, its just the pitch is loud and can be annoying in the cabin. This is one of the quietist exhausts I have heard on a Evo though, so I am not about to let that slip away without finding something better, now.
