Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
It is all a matter of personal preference. Some of us are content with doing what we can on a reasonable budget. Others can spend big money, and not think twice about it. Either way its good and if someone wants a stock Evo that's cool too. I personally set my level where I could get some nice gains and still maintain a descent reliability, because I really can't afford to replace major components repeatedly. If that puts me in the 300 HP club, that is fine with me
And ya that puts u in the 300hp club lol.... Trust me tho man that don't make me consider u less of a Evo owner or something trust me I respect what people do....
Trust me most wouldn't want what I have as a Evo and that's all good... Somehow it just translates into these tags with my name all over them
In particular like after I eat a transfer case or something it's all jokes for everyone
If one of you boys posted that u grenaded something trust me the last thing I'd be doing is trying to figure out a witty tag at your expense
Might wanna double check that... You live near Allegheny county dont you? Go smoke in a restaurant. Oh wait, you cant... It is illegal. Certain states it is illegal to smoke in your car..
My point was not taken correctly. You condemn a whole society of people who do something when not every one is guilty of a crime.
I dont know what is scarier, someone ripping down 376 @ 3:30 AM with a spotter car and a chase car OR a bunch of elderly men hanging out at an arcade drinking beer starting fights then driving home in the midst of the evening....

illegal or not, it's just not a good idea. you cite these figures, congratulations. there's more to those statistics.
how were they gathered? did they take in to account people killed as a result of the street race that were not involved, like someone crossing a street or an unrelated car that got smashed when someone lost control?
what about people who are injured or even paralyzed because of it.
the reason these things should stay on the track is because it mitigates the damage the situation may cause if things go sideways and also minimizes the number of variables in the equation. it's highly unlikely that while lapping beaver run or hitting the strip at prp that someone in a minivan is going to pull out from an exit ramp that you may not notice at 100+ mph.
there's also physical road surface conditions to take in to account. you never know when you're going to run in to that pot hole you just didn't see, or when a sharp screw or other piece of debris that is completely unnoticeable on he road surface may cause a tire to catastrophically fail at speed.
also there's not much run off room on a highway. you would think that with your experience with a "bad batch" of cosworth cams, that you would be very aware of the potential for sudden and unexpected catastrophic failure of mechanical parts.
then there's the aspect of the negative reputation it brands the rest of us with. i love many aspects of our cars, what i hate is the angry looks i get from people and cops when they see me and associate me with people like you who are out doing stupid and dangerous things on the road that should be kept in a controlled environment.
but none of that matters to you because as far as i can tell you have no concept of altruism or concern for how your actions may impact others.
Not to mention they now used to charge street racers with vehicular manslaughter if someone dies or just reckless driving if you crash.
Now if someone dies you are going down for MURDER. Holy smokes. Not to mention that its a felony to street race.
Street racing is what it is. I've to much to lose anymore. Houses, cars, family hell just 20 years of savings. But man the punishment alone would turn me away.

I spent a total for $500 for my exhaust and the cams came with the motor.... sooo with $500 invested can I beat you? And did you invest $500 or more?
What if I didnt spend more money in mods though? I mean realistically what if my car is just better tuned with the well (unfortunately only 4 mods TBE,MANIFOLD,CAMS,FILTER) I mean I got stock intercooler and pipes, no mbc, not aftermarket bushings nothing!!!

also, i spent nearly twice that on my cat back.

theoretically i could buy a used turbo for $25 and be faster i suppose.

baller status brother. baller status.
when i was buying it i figured i would rather spend the money on something that sounds great since i have to live with it every day. a lot of the other cat backs i looked at were very loud, very nasty sounding, or both.
in my opinion i got the best of all possible combinations. relatively quiet, open flowing, and a sound that is music to my ears everywhere i drive.

In Selmer, Tennessee, a dragster went out of control and smashed into spectators during a fundraising festival in June 2007, killing six people and injuring 22. Driver Troy Critchley, 38, was convicted of misdemeanor reckless assault charges and sentenced to 18 months probation.
Just remember that when your driving around cones in a reckless way... an accident might happen and you would have to pay the price
