Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Typing long messages on the iPad sucks. Even on the iPhone they are a pain. The new swipe to text feature on my Samsung Captivate makes typing long messages a breeze. I have always been a fan of Apple, but they really dropped the ball on the iPhone 4 features and hardware.
I know I know. This iPad sucks to type on. Bottom line jestr is tuning the car....for some reason the mid 2010 evo X will not cofigure with ecu flash or evo scan. It almost seems like only particial map images are going on the ecu....Eric is doing everything correctly. Putting the image on the car, and data logging. The logs just look totally wrong. I have talked to multiple people across the country trying to Get The newest X modified maps...everyone is having issues. The car has lots of potential but it need someone basically to hack the ecu......I even talked to one of the programmer envolved with ecu flash. So basically Eric needs someone who really knows there stuff with a mid 2010 evo. John from jestr hands are tied. He can't even view the logs to give any input. Yes the car runs ok. But no timing. Wrong fuel maps etc. Johns image looks great. But we just can't get ir on the car completely. So there is short version. So a little help. I built it ,,now I wanna see what it can do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just a shot in the dark but maybe some of the memory locations are being write protected in the config for the ecu?

I haven't had enough time to sit down with map after it is on the car. Def timing maps are f Ed. Fuel is just dumping. But fuel map is conservative. And. John can't do anything with out being in the car. The fix in my mind is a live connect to the car. Remote tuning if you will

enable remote desktop on your computer, connect it to the car and to your wifi.
then add a port forwarding rule to your router, create a new login username/password for the computer, and add it to the remote users.
then shoot john your IP address and have him use windows remote desktop manager to remote in. it will give you the same functionality as if you were sitting in the car working locally on the computer

-edit-
if you have tethering enabled on your blackberry you may actually be able to get away with not adding port forwarding to the router and be able to have him remoting in to the computer as you drive the car around. i have never tested this so i can't say for sure, but it's plausible that it could work. don't know what purpose it would serve other than live logging, but it would be interesting to try.

I would also give Tephra a PM, he would know exactly what to do. I even saw him post up some timing and fuel maps on the 2010s also, so something tells me he has tuned a few already.

I would download a stock ROM that he has flashed that is known to work and just copy over your timing/fuel tables and go from there.
I'd be floored if port 3389 wasn't blocked on any wireless carrier. You'd need to change the listening port for RDP to or use a third party service that does to get around that.
i wonder how often the IP on my blackberry changes.
provided you don't change carrier connections when you change towers it'll stay the same for a good while. Not that the ip your phone has is public routable anyway. All your traffic goes through a proxy.
i'm of two minds on this.
either the IP address is tied to the actual SID of the handset and never changes, or like you said dave they use a tower based DHCP.
but i am leaning towards the first option, or at least a DHCP that stays relatively constant unless you get a new lease.
hrm... now i need to go find a packet logger that will run on a blackberry. too bad cain and abel won't execute on it.
-edit-
a quick visit on my handset to proxyblind.org shows nothing specific about it being a proxy per se. however the DNS resolves with a reference to Squid after the hostname, which is a large open source proxy script written in PHP (i think).
