do you really want advice on the shifting, or are you just being a tool?

i'd be happy to change your oil for you sweetheart, but it's a bit hard with only one arm.

It actually feels notchy for the first time. Maybe because it was cold earlier (45 deg) but the tranny or clutch may have been the culprit. I do wanna change em out as well as some SS clutch lines over winter..

The oil was a joke tho lol

both of mine (5spd or 6spd) have been notchy on cold startup as the temp drops. usually evens itself out when the car warms up.

the shifter bushings don't help with the notchy feel when it's cold, they do help with a more solid feel as it goes in to gear though. it doesn't have that mushy feel on the up/down shift.

i haven't noticed much difference with notchiness related to changing clutches or even flywheels.

the biggest helper i've personally found for that is a fluid change. the 5spd has a dozen possible combinations you can use to smooth it out, but you're never going to get rid of 100% of it when driving cold.

since you don't race much it's not as big an issue for you, but i try to get in a full driveline fluid change ever 6 - 12k miles.

If you have a 5 speed use two mt 90 and one heavy shockproof. It will be smooth year around, even in cold.

Yeah, there was a fluid flush about 3500 miles ago.. I have the cocktail mixture in the tcase and fresh tranny fluid

as for the mushy feeling I can vouch for that, it feels weak going into gear.

Since it was only a 3 mile drive to work, I did notice on the way home after the car got warm that it drove a little better and it was about 55 deg as well..

Yeah, I thought in the differentials (rear and T-Case) you should run the stock DiaQueen LSD stuff? Then in the transmission you can run the MT-90 and Shockproof oils. This is what Shep does for sure...

I run plain old mt-90 in the tranny and redline 80-140 in the transfer case and rear. Mixing oils sounds like a bigger hassle then I like.

i've been running stock fluid in the driveline with the exception of my tranny (6spd).

i was on stock fluid in there too until the last time i had it changed. mike recommend a mix of fluids for it. it really felt quite nice. i forget the exact mix that he had put in there but it was very smooth.

unfortunately i had to get my clutch replaced not too long after and i think he just had the regular stuff sitting around at that time.

i don't have any specific complaints against the stock stuff, but the mix he did for me was remarkably smoother.
