Maine Meet
Maine Meet
I dont know anyone with a Lancer or Evo in the Maine/New england area so I was thinking of seeing if there was anyone lol and meeting up somewhere.. let me know if there is any interest.
I just moved out of Windham, Maine, to Merrimack, New Hampshire, but I'm still in Maine during the week up in Augusta for work. If you set something up, let me know, I'll come along, this forum is kinda dead for New Englanders.
There are still 2 EVOs in Windham, 2 in Portland that I know of. Look up Cumberland Motor Club and you'll see a few EVOs that ran at the autox this past summer.
There's a yellow EVO in the complex that I just moved into, haven't met the guy that drives it yet, but I saw him picking up his two kids at the preschool the other day.

Spring is fine.. we will defiently have to plan something, maybe meet at the Beach in New Hampshire, I've heard that its quite the import hang out sometimes. That would probably be in the middle for a lot of people.

An airshow and Evo g2g sounds great on the coast of Maine, what could be better than that during a cool summer. Count me in, I'm sure the project I'm on in Augusta won't be over by then.
Would love a Maine meet! I'm in Portland, and there are at least two other apex silvers in the area. I met one of the owners, and I'm pretty sure he's one of the guys that runs in the Cumberland Motor Club. I also just spotted a Blue By You yesterday, and the local dealership has a red and a black sitting at the lot. Evos abound.
Let me know if there's anything I can do to help set things up. I work for a documentary film company that does a lot of stuff for the History Channel, and I'm also fairly obsessed with these cars. I'd love to shoot something of the event and post it somewhere.

If we want to make this a big meet, then I have suggestion. If it falls on a weekend, then to get more folks up in Maine then we need a place for them stay and have a good drive the next day. I've done this for two summers for the New England folks of focaljet and it turned out nice each time.
The first summer we did it, we stayed at a 200 year old farmhouse (that's been totally redone on the inside within the last 5 years) and had 160 acres of land, one night we stayed in the house, the next night we all camped out on the land and built a huge fire and partied all night safely. Here's a pic or two:
This house is in Richmond, Maine (exit 26 off I-95) about 1/2 an hour from Brunswick off route 24 which leads directly to the airforce base. The company I work for rented the farmhouse for over an hour and I lived in it for about a year, the landlords live across the street on the Kennebec River and are very nice and said that they would rent out for a weekend if it's available anytime.

This past summer, one of my clients offered us a place to camp in Sommerset, ME, which is about 20 minutes outside of Augusta (which is about 40 minutes away from Brunswick). The bought an old summer camp about 10 years ago, and have slowly been fixing it up they've got one house they rent out and then camping areas right on a big lake with a nice dock, they have about 300 acres in total and only charged me $10 bucks a night per person. There is a refrigerator and bbq for use right down at the lake. Here are some pictures from that:
I'd be more than happy to set it up if this is what we want to do, just let me know, if we get enough people interested and promise to come up, I'll get a keg, my treat.
