REAL Time Attack Pics

If anyone went to the REAL Time Attack event yesterday at E-Town, I should have a pic of your car if you ran in the morning.

Pretty much they are anti Redline as a few of the guys who put it together won a few rounds at Redline and RTA didn't give them any props for their accomplishments compared to West Coast events and drivers gets all the praise.

True I guess, but Redline isn't coming to the East Coast in 2011 so locally now there is an outlet for time attack racing.

there is many Time trials around. Actually i think the crappiest race track is englishtown for that.
For me to set up my rally car for tarmac is perfect, but i do not think its a good track at all for TA cars. There is much better options, like NJMP or GR or LR etc.

Try to run those events with some club, you will be amazed the difference.

Maybe that's something they can consider for their series in 2011. You definately can't go wrong with NJMP. I was there over the weekend for Rallycross and had an awesome time.

I only stayed for the morning runs and they had him in the wrong class so he pretty much was stuck behind slower cars. The car is real impressive though for the moments he was able to blow flames from the exhaust

The first session they put me in the Red group (most experience) which comprised of several Evo 8-9's and X's, boosted S2K, and a couple track prepped cars. After that they then moved me up another group to faster cars.....then after I lapped the field, they finally decided to put me with the Porsche's and AMG's......which got passed/lapped in similar fashion. We had a great time at the event and I'm definitely looking forward to a full season next year. Temps were in the 40-50's for most of the day, so my R-888's had a hard time heating up. To say the track surface was slick and ruff would be a huge understatement! Even with low temps, extremely slippery and ruff track, I was still able to run 1:14 seconds laps. Not to bad considering Gates ran a 1:09+ back in the summer of 2009 with his 600 whp AMS prepped time attack car.

Yeah completely agree the track was a mess. I was telling one of the flaggers that they need to repave it badly; spots had grass coming out of it. I then saw one of the videos and saw up close how horrible the pavement was for driving.

Quote from event organizers:

" Jeremy from south side performance(SSP) contacted us after hearing about Real Time Attack, and was excited to finally have and event like this. Due to the fact that our event was sold out, he was only able to bring one shop car, which was the Evo X MR making 540whp 406 tq. And it was a sight for soar eyes, this evo was not only aerodynamically beautiful, it performed like no other. We had to keep bumping him up in class till we just had to match him up with the Porsche tt, AMG Mercedes and a supercharged mustang cobra.... and still he owned the track. Jeremy will be bring more cars and fellow shops eager to race at Real Time Attack and will be a force to recon with next year. We expect SSP to break records on every track."

A lil late to this thread....

It was great meeting with you for the first time.... Now I can put a face together with the voice as we order SSP parts!!

The event was fun. A small group of enthusiasts who just wanted to race! The track was small and slippery, but I think it was a good location to have a few newbs "get their feet wet" with open wheel racing...

We had a blast and enjoyed the energy that was in the atmosphere...
