PCD: Last year's version
Gunnar was very fortunate not to get hurt in that car- he is a good friend of mine- we drove an LMP 900 panoz together and Daytona Prototype-
He had another scary accident at Road Atlanta once heading down to 6 when he lost the brakes and the throttle stuck in the P1 Panoz- hit he retaining wall so hard the front dampers made their way WAY down into the woods-
scary stuff-

I got your joke. Almost cried so hard I was laughing...
There are so many posts in this thread it's a constant upkeep to maintain...that's why i'm not always posting.
I am looking forward to NJMP tomorrow; hopefully I learn a lot.

Good, and if you pass someone without getting a point-by and I find out, I'm personally going to kick you in the nuts.
Fixed this for chu. Use the PCD spell-checker for this thread, works better.
CU125, if you're doing lightning here is a track map for chu. This is the official one too, print this one out.

That track pic is hilarious. I bet Dan loves racing the "Lightning track"...

so you've driven a few LMP cars, what's your opinion on the delta design car? keep them on the oval or are they road course worthy?
as for me- I simply dont care for it- the idea is cool- but what I like is high HP turbocharged lightweight prototype cars with big aero-
I was fortunate enough to drive a Grand-AM SR2- LOLA, LMP900 Panoz, LMP900 Riley and Scott and two years in the LMP675 Lola MG EX257 which was an amazing car--- it sucked in 2003 when they hit us with a restrictor cut- knocking our power down on the little 2 liter turbo motor- which could have mae 800+hp unrestricted- but we were knocked down to around 485-500.
In my opinion- the most dangerous thing in sports car racing is when the P cars dont have the power to blast by the GT class cars upon corner exit--- I remember in 03 at sebring pulling out of turn 16 on the 575 Pro Drive ferrari and having a drag race down the straight--- it actually started pulling ahead- and I had to go all but into the corner on throttle to overtake him because we had lost 8-10mph on the straights over the year before with the restrictor cut.
I hope the Grand-Am ALMS merger doesnt kill the P car formula- I miss the days of the Toyota and Nissan GTP cars when I was a kid- and first me people like the Dysons-
Hopefully with the manufacturers only having to concentrate on one main series (versus two series splitting their development and budgets) it will help- a strong GT class- and MEGA LMP class would rule, but unfortunately I dont think it will happen.
What are your thoughts on it?

Thought you were told not to come back here until you won the HPDE championship...
You don't want to get a point by, that would be bad. Giving point-bys is where its at. If you ain't givin point-bys all day then you ain't dominating the green group.

I'm just going to let him figure out what that all means on his own tomorrow......
Looks like my shoulder will be hurting after tomorrow...giving point-bys ALL DAY!
I agree with you 100% CBRD guy. Does that means we're best friends now? In all seriousness, it was a shame Duncan Dayton couldn't secure a backing to keep the Highcroft program going. They were the team to beat in ALMS and their one-off podium with the ARX-03a at Sebring in 2011 was great. They were also the HPD hipsters, they were using HPD before everyone used it.
You and Dan will get along just fine.
