Pete, I'm sure you're fine but I hope the car you were driving is as well. I'm guessing it wasn't the Evo since that isn't drivable at the moment.

It would be nice if you could go into CBP's parking lot after it snows.

Cliff notes...

Steep hill with a T at the bottom (no stop sign). I going around 15mph and when I got on the brakes it was all ABS. I had to go left but wasn't gonna make it, so I tried to go right, ended up just hitting the embankment. Thankfully it was soft due to tree branches and leaves. So the Mazda needs a little front end tlc. Bumper cover didn't crack, I broke a bunch of clips that hold it on, part of the under tray, and my foglight. Goog times.

i hope you got some good *** after you went through all that trouble and ditched me with our kart date night.

doesnt sound like too much damage, would insurance cover it if deductible is low enough to make it worth it.

I sold the POS Mini yesterday and bought a Hyundai Tiburon with Brembos. I came really close to getting another Evo (a X) but I don't think my marriage would have survived another car I could dump tens of thousands into. This has 11000 miles and already has to have 5th gear replaced under warranty. I can't win.

^ is that the track edition with the Brembo and rear LSD. V6 or turbo 4? the turbo 4 is the same engine as the evo x. so you could potentially dump $10k into it also

Is this the 3.8 R-Spec?

It's the V6 Rspec. I avoided the turbo 4 for exactly that reason. That and it was painfully slow in the 2010-2012's but the new 2013 felt much quicker. The mini accelerated better than the previous generation 2.0t. The service manager told me anything beyond stock would potentially void the warranty but I can do a catback and intake. Then "just remove it before coming in for service". I liked the honesty of the service manager and salesman. They were suggesting ways to avoid warranty problems and still mod the car a little. I'll get it tuned locally at a place in West Chester called SFR since it can't be detected and maybe do the catback. That's it for a long while aside from pads and tires when and if the time comes. I still haven't gone more than 3/4 throttle in it. It's been snowing or I got stuck behind slow people but it feels quick enough to keep me from going nuts. It feels a lot like the GTO interior. Nicely laid out and comfortable to drive.
I still miss the hell out of my Evo though. Nothing will actually replace it.

(ps It's a Genesis Coupe...) When I was working at a Hyundai dealership in Saco, we only had the 2.0T R-Spec so I never got to try out the 3.8 But then again, I don't think we ever did get another because no one in their right mind who lives in Maine would buy a 350hp rwd coupe I like the yellow a lot though
