hood - $200
fender - $200 - SWAG
non-hid light(s) - $400
rad - $150
misc hoses - $250est
control arm/tie rod - $300ish
bumper - $300
bumper support - $75
fmic - $100
oem front suspension - $400
alignment - $250
total - $2,625
labor - ?????
car wrap - ?????

I think I'm probably over estimating some parts and maybe even accounting for ish you don't even need.
Chu forgot, inner fenders, radiator support, air bags, more than likely windshield, etc. not to mention an ish load of labor. 7-10k with used parts is definitely doable.

yeah sounds like parting it out and using it for next car is easier on the mind...

I love her, but I think I can let her go. I believe in new beginnings, no matter how hard they might be. Both in life and in cars.

Spending close to $10k doesn't seem feasible or logical, especially if she might not ever be the same.

I think the fact that you don't have space and ability to DIY most of it makes it unreasonable, especially if you need a daily driver in the mean time and you're building it as a daily driver. I think if you're going to put for any effort it should be to part it out so that you get a healthy down payment on your next car and if you don't want to do that then selling it as is. That, in my opinion, would be the reasonable thing a person who lives in an apartment would do.

That being said: I'm in for the PCD Cold Tire Part Out Domination BBQ 2013. And by in I mean, I'll remove your wheels, pull your brake pads, open your hood, pull your intake and top IC pipe then drink beer and maybe eat food and heckle errbody doing work.

Where did the crash happen? I heard on the straight when trying to pass but that's all wall there to hit. If it was Armco, I'd presume it was after the apex of 12 before fully exiting and having the wheel straight.

I agree with Dan on this..
Sorry to see you cracked up your car Jalal, one of my big fears with track days. Your incident reinforces my thoughts on track insurance. I will never do another track day without track insurance.

Reasons I agree with Dan:
Based on you not having a spot to work on it, its your daily and you want it to be almost perfect I would just part it out or sell it whole and move on.

All these guys on here saying they would build it using used parts have the means to make that happen. Garage to work on it, not their daily driver etc.

One annoyance in selling parts is dealing with the constant low ballers. Example - try and sell Chu anything, he will cut your price in half! So if you are time pressed to do something and not really able to work on car you should just probably move the entire car as a package. If you have a nice suspension then maybe you could sell that separate too. What a bummer, least no one got hurt and that is most important.

Dude, he was being sarcastic... Aint no one doing 150 in the rain and I wasn't even there. As far as speed on impact I bet it was much less than 60. Probably 30-40 mph. 60 mph wall hit would mean more damage and probably some injuries to occupants IMO.

I know grillo was being sarcastic...but Jamal might not know that...we don't need to egg him on into becoming "that guy." We had one of those before.

He impacted the armco about 30-40' before it becomes concrete jersey barrier, so almost directly opposite where the exit curbing ends...then came to rest the end of the armco. And hitting armco dissipates a huge amount of energy so it wouldn't be nearly as much damage to the car as hitting the jersey barriers.

Just as an FYI, this was $10k payout in damage on my car:

50% of the bill was the headlight and ACD pump. i think if you found a shop that would allow you to buy the parts it would be feasible to do a sub $10k fix on that car (probably less even but thats a high estimate) and it would be a safe running driving car.

but, i also think you could sell it to someone as a fixer up shell for a track car for $5-$7k depending on whats on it. Ive seen a few guys rebuild cars with worse damage into great track cars.

^^^ Damn. Yeah, my **** is f#cked then.

Once I get the car back, I'll be able to take photos with a piece of paper with my name on it. Post a thread up, and get some feelers for ***** and giggles.

If we do have a PCD Part Out Party, then we can do the photos and pictures as parts are coming off, and I'll make people pick up parts they want unless they are reasonable to ship.

If we do the part off party, I may just even pay you for parts as I take them off.

However is Chu is there we may have an auction going....
