PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
Jalal, sorry about the car. At least you walked away without injuries. You'd probably make out better if you part the car out, but it would take time and work. Or you could offer partout where people can come to you to pull what ever they need off the car. Or maybe you can have cbrd do the part out for you if you're not mechanically incline. Just curious, what are you looking to get for the whole car.
You want us all to show up and start wrenching and help you part it out?
^ I don't know if that's really a good idea or ridiculous.
If he just sells it as a whole, someone else may just turn around and part it out and make a profit. I'd part that thing out if I were inclined.

Timing was my issue here. My dad is only in the states for 2-3 weeks around that time and after that not sure when he will be back. Just trying to get both of us back on the track ya know.
Jalal, your situations sucks, but at least you took it like a man and didn't go around blaming the conditions, car or something else. Im my book that speaks volumes.
btw, put me down for the PCD tear down/part-out/gang bang party.

Seems like a pretty good deal... especially if you can beat him up a little on the price.

Jalal,
It was nice meeting you briefly. I'm sorry that this happened on your first ever event. I hope it doesn't scare you away from this hobby/sport. There's is nothing more fun than driving your car as it was designed to be driven. I can understand if you don't want to give it another try though....
As for selling vs. parting out, it's much easier for someone outside the situation to say what they would do. So that being said, if it were my car, I find a lot more value to be had in parting out the wheels, coilovers and various other parts then selling the rest of the car off.
Keep us updated on how you make out.

Who is Josh?
Thanks everyone.
C'est la vie. It could have been a lot worse then it was. I'm glad that my instructor and I were not harmed and that I am able to be here typing this post today.
I loved her, and I still do. Nothing is going to change that. But I don't know that it makes financial sense to bring her back to life. The initial quote I got from the assessor was for $13,250. I have the actual shop that it's currently at doing an estimate for me so that I can get another opinion. I might find it feasible if I can do a proper and complete rebuild for $7,000, but I don't know that I could for more. I'll have to wait and see.
What do you guys think?
Yeah, we can always piece her back together and bring her to life, but could I really do a 100% proper job without having to skimp out on things? I want the car to be as she was.
In regards to the crash, there were many factors that worked together to put me where I am today, but you can't really put blame on them. It happened, it sucks, but we do our best to deal with it and move forward.
Although insurance isn't covering my car at all, they did cover the track damage and my rental. Thankfully.
If we ever do a gathering for a part out, it would have to be at my storage facility because I personally don't have my own house or garage. I live in an apartment. So I would have to make sure management is cool with it all and go from there. I still have to call up and confirm that I can store a non-running car. When I called to make the reservation, they said it had to be running, but that I should talk to the manager of the facility and see what he thinks.
Once I know what I'm doing exactly, I plan on using the money for the sale and put it towards a WW X MR. It would have to be used.
Please give me your thoughts and opinions.
Again, thanks to all those that have helped and all those willing to help. It's amazing to know I've got some homies that take it deep at my side.
-Jalal
