Yeah, teaching kids how to be cool and get more pu$$y would certainly lower the super violent crime rate of school shootings. Imagine if any of these wackos could just get an HJ every once in awhile... Could go a long way.

Let me fix the flux capacitor Jeff..

Both of the shotguns sit in my closet, in a gun bags, unloaded, with the safety on. I keep a box of rounds next to it, all of which are accounted for. I show my niece and nephews my guns, so they have no curiousity to go looking for it when I'm not around. I've let them touch it, hold it, so they can get all of the curiousity out of their systems. I teach them how dangerous guns are, and they are not to go anywhere near it without an adult. They play in my room quite often as it is where the gaming systems are, sitting feets away from the guns. My nieces and nephews never ever asks about my guns for no apparent reason. They stopped hiding in my closet becasue they know thats where I keep the guns.

Everyone makes good points. I choose to educate.

So you think the government sould tell you how to be safe or teach your kids about safety? You think government should have laws to not run with scissors too?

What happened to common sense and personal responsibility? I have two guns, one is an ak, and i dont even keep them at my house since my kids were born. I didnt need the government to tell me that. Just like i dont need to government to tell me i need to wear a helmet to ride a motorcycle. If i crash and crack my head, that call darwinism.

if you have kids with mental issues, then you lock up or guns or anything else that they can hurt themselves with. that's just common sense. if you turn it into a law, who's going to enforce it. they don't even enforce the laws we have now.

Sorry for not explaining myself- I am not fighting optimism but instead trying to have people face realism. Throughout the past weeks I constantly hear people seeking the perfect answer to this not realizing there will never be one. Instead of saying "I want these killings to be less frequent" they request that "all these killings must stop" and at that point seeking perfection- there can only be a derivative of madness.
Life is meant to pursue and improve one self and others- we do it the very moment we crawl, then walk, then run.
