PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
My stepfather inherited an Audi A4 company car that was consuming oil like mad. The service tech told the original driver of the car that he drove it like a ***** and it didn't break it in correctly.
He also took it to jiffy lubes for oil changes and they threw a conventional oil filter on it (threw away the oem filter assembly) and put conventional oil in it for 40k miles. He always used 87 octane.
Reason #6743 why I really don't want to have to buy a used car.

I think you're x5 has one. I think all the German cars that don't have dipsticks have one. In audi's it's an orange oil can and a caption that says "add oil."
That would annoy the **** out of me.
A similar light comes up when it's time for an oil change too. They both to me look like a low oil pressure light and I just about **** myself when I first saw it on my wife's e90. The low pressure light is red and in the actual dash and not on the LCD screen.

I don't know exactly, but somewhere in the neighborhood of 1qt/600-700miles.
Chu, from what I understand they aren't offering her a new shortblock. I'm friends with the tech doing the work, I'm sure if he could get her one, he would have. We'll see how this works out. I think its supposed to be ready on Monday.

I don't know how the rings are going to seat properly. Its not like the tech has mechinist tools to insure the bore and hone are true and good. Then she also has to break the motor in again, and stay on top of the initial oil changes. That's just a headache for an average person.
What?! Timo signs with BMW DTM...actually I'm not at all surprised by that, it makes perfect sense....but what caught me off guard was that he is only 30y/o...I thought he was pushing 40...seems like he's been a back marker for at least 15 years....right?
You think you're gonna have the safe open by the time they reach your ***? It doesn't take me much time to reach into my closet and rounds as its within arms length of my bed. I used to keep it loaded, but no longer do. My house has an alarm system with motion detectors, and sensors on all doors. You can't get pass any door or window without the loud warning. And there are two shooters in my house...[/QUOTE]
I guess Chu didn't read the part where I said I pull one out when I'm home. It's within a foot of me while I sleep loaded and ready . My wife is competent with it and she runs drills to keep it fresh in her mind if I'm not home. Just remember the thief can run 25' in the time it takes u to lift the gun from ur hip to ur shooting position. If Chu need to load Chu is already dead

^If you let the thieves run that 25' before opening fire, you're dead. Secondly, thieves dont' break in, and go running and making all kinds of noise. At least they generally don't. If someone is there with a purpose of killing, that's another story.
That's a sick burn rate.

DTM isn't a bad place to be, and neither is driving for BMW.
