No more 94 Octane at Sunoco?
Hey all,
I'm in southeastern MA, and I checked Sunocos in RI and MA, and they no longer have Ultra 94 octane?
They still have 93. I know it probably didn't make much (any) difference, but I had always put 94 in the car since new. Oh well, as long as we have 93 I'll be happy. I really hope we don't have to start using 91 like the poor Cali folks.
I also replied to a post from MalibuJack in the Northeast region forum, and this is also happening in NY...

I guess I was just worried about losing 93 octane, but if we keep it I think it won't be a big deal...
Take care,

i have to say my experiences with 94 octane sunoco have been very good.
i"ve noticed a much improved pull to the redline as well as improved shifting, the car just seems to love the 94..
i try not to ever use anything less.. i really think it DOES make a noticeable difference
just my 2 cents

Most our local Sunoco's stopped carrying 94 about a month after I bought my EVO. I'm guessing they don't sell enough 94? There's still a few 94 pumps left in town. I filled up my first 3 tanks with 94, and I was getting very bad gas mileage (160 mi/city). I couldn't make to a Sunoco one time, and I settled for 93. I gained 20-30 mile on my tank, and so I've been filling with 93 ever since.
i hope we don't lose 94 in dayton, ohio, my evo loves it, haven't noticed the gas mileage difference, although i don't floor it everywhere i go, i just firmly believe that the car loves higher octane,
in a recent conversation with mark at quantum racing, he told me the japanese evos run on 98 octane stock..
