Congrats to Steve Murphy
Congrats to Steve Murphy
Steve doesn't like to brag online, so I told him I would do it for him
. Yesterday he dynoed his Evo at dynoauthority in Redmond. With basic bolt ons he made 299 hp at 6,750 and 281ft lbs at 4,750. In comparision at stock Evo on their dyno made 219.9hp at 6,000 and 243.6ft lbs at 3,750rpm. Factoring a 20% drivetrain loss (remember this is a mustang dyno which tends to read lower than a dynojet) that's 374 crank HP currently.
The curve is even nicer than the peak numbers suggest, from 5,500 to 6,250 it is ~75ft lb gain, the hp curve hits almost 300 from around 5,750 all the way to 6,750.
The mod list is short:
Pina Motorsports 3" exhaust with a standard cat
Pina Motorsports FMIC, 24"x12"x3.5" core
Pina Motorsports 2.5" lower IC pipe
Pina Motorsports 2.5" straight route upper IC pipe
Pina Motorsports lightweight battery
AEM intake pipe and filter
Works throtle body
Apexi SAFC
Hallman MBC
Stock cams, stock cam gears, stock intake manifold, stock o2 housing, stock exhaust manifold.
This is still with a factory fuel system, while I highly recomend 660s and a fuel pump by this point it is possible to do without them. After Steve decides between works or Al for his computer the 660scc injectors will be going in.

HKS SSQ no longer being used, I recomend the greddy typeS

Is the Pina web site still under construction?
I can't tell in the pics, but does that exhaust come out side ways or straight?
I can't stand the sideways thing.. I wanna find a good exhause with a straight exit.
Thanks..

Hey jman425, is that a pump gas dyno chart? Where is your dyno chart from Matrix?
You know the dyno where no one could break 300hp on pump.
Matrix had the lowest reading Mustang dyno, but it looks like they have fixed something since I have been seeing some 380-400hp STi's w/ bolt ons. And we all know that can't happen.

DahakaJR, yes we're still working on the website. I finally got the online ordering up and running, but I haven't actually got the products in. It's hard to find time when I have four engine rebuilds in the shop.
Back to the subject, yes the exhaust exits straight. We didn't want to make another N1 style exhaust, there are enough of those out there already. We also just redesigned the downpipe to fit the MR, I just need to change the jig now.
