my thoughts:
i am pretty involved in the car thing in my local podunk oregon town. i am freinds, with many other people that are involved as well. eg-mike brack (local STI owner many of you have met) i cannot beleive that this was the first that i have heard of this. no one seems to know who the judges are, or how many cars will show up. the only reason that i am posting is because the rice scene is much bigger than the import scene in seaside and if you were into this sort of thing, i would assume that any decently modded evo or lancer could pretty much take the cake on this. It coinsides with some spring break dates, and had been talked about attempting for a long time, so i hope that it works. if there is a good sized group interested in coming, then maybe we could hook up a bonfire, or BBQ at my house one of the nights, as i only live about 2 blocks from the ocean. if many people are a for sure, i could even try to get you guys a good deal on hotel rooms. anyway something to think about, again i am not involved in this, and i didnt even check the links. post up if you are interested. i am sure that i could track down the responsible parties if you had questions. pm me for anything else. see ya.

yeah check it out. i think that carbonevo8 and i are gonna try to make it. it should be easy pickins. it would nice to have a few of you out here. seaside is only about 1.5 hours from portland, and 3-3.5 from seattle. weather should be good as well.

 

count me in josh. come on guys the weather has been great lately so you gotta make it out and since its the first one we can let the rice rockets win.

 

just wanted to bump this. mike brack. is going to post info about this on the nasioc board, and we are going to make a push to get a few nice cars together at least one of the days. probably april 2, registration is $10, and i have info if anyone is interested in coming.

 

Unfortunately I can't make it on the 2nd but if it's nice I may try during the day on the 3rd.

 

^ sounds good, pm me if you need my cell number again. just wanted to tell you all i spent a bunch of time trying to get my junk clean last night, and am headed down there in a few minutes. no cars showed last night but even if only the locals show we will get 10-15 cars, and they are shooting for 25 or so. show will go from today at 10 AM, to about 5PM tonight, and then till 3-4 tommorow, ending with a cruise around town. carbonevo8 and i will be there, along with another STI owner (GPmoto- brand new on thursday night partially installed by mike and myself=really nice) regardless security will be there for your car, so if anyone gets a wild hair up their butt come on down/out. thanks all.

so it was pretty weak, but i won the "peoples choice award" and mike, or carbonevo8 took home "intriguing interior" & "extreme exterior" awards, beating an STI in both. the awards are even on these rather nice plaques with a spot for a picture of our cars that they took that apparentely they are going to send to us in the mail. i beat out a super riced V-6 mustang for the peoples choice award. it was nothing special, but i did get to meet a few people and talk about cars most of the day. anyway weather was crappy, and turnout was dismal, so the three day event turned into more like 6 hours. glad that you guys didnt waste time to come. dont flame cause i got a plaque though. lol.

 

CONGRATULATIONS!!! lol. Looks like I won't be coming out on Sunday. Doesn't look like the weather is going to cooperate. I still would have liked to come out and see the small display of cars. Oh, and I still have your cell number. I'll call you when I head up one of these days.
