How much does a typical clutch install cost for an Evo? Just curious. I've only attempted 2 clutch installs... on my E36 M3 and my Civic... both went smooth and each took all day with a friend. I've contemplated doing my own on the Evo but is a little reluctant to dive into it at the moment. If it's ~$350 for Labor I'll probably take it to a shop.

As for shop recommendations, only use shops that other EVO owners have used for their clutch replacements. This way you know that they can install one correctly. Also, when choosing a clutch, you should try out different ones. See if anyone in your area will let you test drive there cars for evaluation purposes. Unfortunately for me, there are no other EVO's roaming in my area w/ aftermarket clutches. So I just went w/ Vishnu recommendation and got a Exedy twin disc, which I highly recommend.
The place that I installed my twin disc at charges about $400-$450 for a clutch change (depending what fluids you want). They have a factory trained Mitsu tech that comes in and does it. Plus, there open on weekends which is cool.

^ i agree. $700 is a lot of dough, especially compared to $335. jdog isnt the first evo i know of to get a new clutch installed there. i have heard they do great work, from more than 1 person.
