It's sad that despite having the "best backed cars in the country", Mitsubishi actually standing behind their product is harder to believe than Mitsubishi screwing people over. Stories like this are still very nice to hear, and hopefully they are part of a growing trend among dealerships.

I helped a friend buy an '04 Ralliart off of them about 6 months ago for $16,500. My buddy told them he would buy the car for 17k (we started the negotiations at $16,500) if they threw in a chrome exhaust tip, brushed aluminum door sill scuff plates and a cargo net ($130 worth of parts included on the '05 Ralliarts) and they wouldn't do it. They said they would sell him the car for that price and give him the parts at cost though. But when they priced the parts at cost it came out to $136 for the 3 items in bags and boxes, and they would have to order 2 of the items. He asked what I thought and I told him he could go back to Rey Reese and pat $18k for the '05 with all of that on it stock and get it in the color he wanted. (He wanted silver and the one in Beaverton was white like mine.) I told him he should tell them that if they won't give it to him for 16-5 that we were leaving and buying the other car right then. They came back and told him it was a deal. On the way to sign the paperwork I pulled him aside and told the salesman we'd meet him in the office. We jetted over to the parts department and told the guy at the counter that we needed to buy all the parts we had just priced at cost and bought them at dealer cost anyway. Dealerrship tactics crack me up soo much. If they had thrown in the $130 in parts they would have had the sell at $17k. But they had to try to squeeze the $130 out of him and ended up loosing $500 in the process. And we got the parts at cost anyway 'cause nobody bothered to tell the parts manager that the dealer cost thing was off the table. We drove all the way to work that night laughing our asses off at their shooting themselves in the foot with their greed.
