Check ebay I went to cali and got mine in 2003 with $15,000 worth of stuff in it for less than $30K (in 2003, it only had 6500miles )

 

So I went to mountain today...

Interesting.. I take back what I said about stuff changing...

First off I asked for Jo and the guy said she doesn't work there any more.... Then completely switched subject to the a WRX in front of us...

Then another guy tried to convince me that he had a 2002 Ralliart when I told him that the 02 didn't come in the Ralli-art model he said yeah it does well at least it has a turbo.. I said the 02 didn't come with a turbo and he said this one did..... and I had to tell him once again... he said well the prev. owner put one it... okay that doesn't make it a ralliart... he had a rather confused look on his face...here it was an oz rally with with a turbo/IC and it had the ralliart JDM grille... so I guess badges determine whether or not the car is a ralliart or not.... and they wanted 15k for a car only worth about 6k... yeah right.. if you buy that car for 15k you have some money to throw away...

Then I told him I want an Evo 8 RS for the second time.. well he then tried to tell me that he had one up on the hill... so we venture further up there bsing about what exactly I am looking for and he said here it is... I look up to see and to my surprise I see an 06 9 MR... I was like this isn't an RS this isnt even an 8... he was oh your looking for EVO 8? I was like yeah

He then said well what color are you looking for I said Red.. because the RS only came in weightless white and rally red..... he then said is that all?... we might be able to find you another color ... we look over the railing and he said well we have a white and a red one down here.. I was okay .. we go down and look at the Red RS... and he said well lets go look at the red one first and see which you like better... Okay I wasn't paying attention at first cuz they were sitting opposite the lot from each other... he said how about this one... its an 05 RS.... Red ... *exactly what I told him what I wanted* ... he said well lets look at the other one too...I was like your sure the white one is an RS?... cuz it has a spoiler and the RS doesn't come with a spoiler he said oh well then it might just be a 9 then... i didnt say anything but the nine has a different front end than the 8... this one was an 8

After telling him I owned a Ralliart and I wanted to trade it in and that I was going to keep my options open and not make any promises and telling him about my last experience at mtn... we walked back in to sign the traffic log and on the way in he said *so what year Ralliart is this*... >>> pointing to my girl's 01 2.5 RS Subaru Impreza... I was like that isn't even a mitsubishi.. he was oh... okay...

So my quess is that these guys don't know anything about car's... Plus after telling the salesman that I talked to that I was just looking for now... like prices and availability and stuff because I want to wait till after I get married within the next couple of months to buy one... He said well if you want we can get you into an Evo 9 pointing to one of the MR's in the front by the parking lot entrance... I didn't say anything... 3rd times a charm... no thanks mountain... your just pushing people away with salesmen that know nothing about cars they are selling... and being all pushy about it... I understand that is the way car salesman are but if your going to push me into a vehicle make it the vehicle I want not something 10k more than what I am willing to spend...

 

so any other ideas for a good deal... I found another thread about Rey Reece... is that place any better ?

yeah... he gave me a card.... unless one of the subie guys did sneak in to push people away... Cuz I went up to Walker Subaru and looked at a couple of '05 Legacy's... the guy was nice as could... although i was a little scared when i pulled up because noone else was there... and it looked as if a pack of wolves was about to jump me... but the guy ended up being pretty cool

 

Who did you talk to at Mountain?

 

Um...unless there is something I don't know about Jo definitely still works there. I was there 1.5 weeks ago and she went for a spin with me in the used 05 MR (I've never tried the MR, so I was fine driving it instead of one of the brand new IXs on their lot).

You should definitely talk to Jo if you're serious about getting an Evo. Not only is she extremely friendly, but she's a fellow Evo owner! When I'm going to be buying this summer, I am gonna buy from her.

 

Yeah they said she doesn't work there any more... this was sunday night, the guy said she had quit about 3 days earlier that she had some issues or something...

I think I am going to go up to Walker Renton... because the guy I talked to up there seemed really cool plus he knew exactly what I was talking about we we started talking cars... I definately want an Evo and if i absolutely can't get one for some reason then I am going for the 05 Legacy... a little cheaper than the Evo still AWD and Cobb has all kinds of tuning options for it... So probably within the next 6-7 months I should have one of the two... Unless I get tagged for Kyrgyzstan for 5 months then it will be almost next year...
