A Full-Race gt35r kit would be awesome. I think I'm sticking with the 9-20g project for money reasons. Otherwise the full-race kit and and an AEM EMS would be in my future. When do you expect to have it all done?

i'm running the fullrace kit. I have the 264/272 combo and i would have to say the car has some sweet torque left in it still. one thing worth mentioning is the fact that bigger cams, intake manifold and head porting usually all have negative effects on spool up. it's a give and take! I'm trying to figure out myself if it's worth it for me to stick a manifold and a bigger intake cam in the mix. I like the car and the power how it sits.

Do you know Bryan at action auto?

Do the bigger intake cam, it won't hurt. HKS profiles are pretty moderate. When I was running my "square" cams on the 2.4 I ended up having around the same lag as a 2.0 with the same turbo, but the car went almost 5mph faster, it's a tradeoff.

An intake manifold won't make for more lag, although depending on the design you might loose some low end torque.

Typical spoolup for a .63 35R is right in line with what jj_008 posted, I can see it getting substantially better with a good collector design, proper pipe diameter, and pipe length.

yes i know bryan. i really like how the power comes on with the 264/272. i'm thinking about trying a hks 280 intake or a fp 280 intake.

jj008, why buschurs kit at the bottom? seems like the most resonably priced and no new dp needed?

i have. my mechanic has allready quoted me on the install. I would like to do the turbo upgrade first tho. the 2.3l kit is approx. 2k and the install is almost 3k. so im going turbo first this year and depending on funds ill jump into the 2.3l.

You will still need a DP since it requires a flanged DP and your Helix uses the donut.

It is the most reasonable priced, but it has a poor collector design, un-equal length runners, wastegate dump to atmosphere, and the wastegate is placed off of one runner and not at the collector. It still going to be fast, but it won't put out the numbers as the other kits would. The exhaust back pressure could be pretty high w/ that manifold at high boost.

This is what I would look for in a GT35R kit:

1. GT35R w/ 4" ported shroud and .63 backside
2. Equal length header w/ a good collector
3. 1.3-1.4bar wastegate spring

It still a good kit, their are just more that are better.
