Between the three cars I probably have like 5 years of no front plate driving and I got one ticket in my Miata that was dismissed in court - I used some doublesided tape to put the front plate on the car, took a picture and brought it to court there's no way in hell I'd drill holes in that nice bumper.

It's a stupid law that isn't really enforced.
I wouldn't say it's not enforced. I drove around with no front plate for two years and within the last month and half I've been pulled over 4 times while minding my own business in different sections of the Portland Metro area. The fourth time I got pulled over they gave me a ticket for $91 and a court date in April. I guess they're really getting on people with no front plates in Portland, at least that's what the last 4 cops that pulled me over has said, they said way too many people are running around with no front plates.

True to that. I drove for a year with out plates, and the day I let my brother test drive my car (I was in it) we get pulled over for no plates. I told the cop I have the plates in the truck, and was getting it install next week at the dealership. Gave me a warning and let me go.

Local and county cops don't seem to bother, it's those damn state troopers that have nothing better to do than hassle us and write up bs tickets because they can. I got a ticket for no front plate $186, he said "you people in these modified cars know better and we are not here to warn you, it' s the law and you are breaking it, so I'm required to issuse you a citation. What a a$$. He also wrote me a ticket for my exhaust, which is still stock. Said he was sure that I had removed the converter.

I like the front plate on my car. I think it sets the evo apart from everything else.

Depends on the State, in AZ where I live is not required, in TX were I use to live I got pulled over multiple times.

Yes it is required, and yes you may get pulled over for not having one up. BUT, it is only a $101 non-moving (insurance doesn't change) ticket, so I think it would be worth the $100 sometimes in order to look SO much better.

Here in Guam, they are just starting to enforce it but the thing is, I know some of them (cops) and there POV's with no front plates. That stinks.
