criminal citation?
Don't trip, you probably won't even get it in the mail. Nothing has came for me in the mail twice.. Different circumstances, but right along the same lines. Kind of..
IF and WHEN you get it, ask for discovery and give us a play by play of everything because im sure there is a few loop holes we can aim for.
Just let us know if and when you actually get anything, then we can talk..
Options are:
-Lawyer, possibly get everything dropped but pay $!
-Pay ticket, prolly non-moving, insurance isn't effected anyway, pay $ which is prolly cheaper then a lawyer.
(I don't think employers will give a sh*t if you were at the street races)
-Differal, Probably most expensive, but no chances are taken except that you won't get arrested in the next 12 months.

Maybe next time when you ask for advice you should post why you got the ticket instead of leaving it open to debate. I don't know...just a suggestion. When you get a criminal citation it encompasses a handful of criminal acts and usually it's mandatory for you to have to show up for court. Since the cop just called in your ticket and didn't physically give you anything in writing it was most likely just a scare tactic.

i thought that saying i got a criminal citation at the races was enough, but anyways sorry man im jsut pissed about the thing and i hope that your right about calling it in was a scare tactic. one thing is though im just going to go to SIR and not there anymore.

Just don't sign for any letters you get in the next few weeks. If it just arrives in standard mail, I doubt it's legal (what if it was lost in the mail???) If you don't sign for a registered letter, then you can't receive it. I doubt it'll come anyway.
Bro, check this out. Kent has a city code for it here
http://www.ci.kent.wa.us/citycode/kent0942.asp
The part that applies to you is this
9.42.020 Unlawful race attendance – Prohibited.
Any person (1) who has actual or constructive knowledge that they are in a designated SOAR area and (2) who has actual or constructive knowledge that an unlawful race event is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur, and (3) was there with the intent to observe or support or encourage the unlawful race event, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
This KCC will probably be on your Criminal Citiation. Since it is a Misdemeanor you will have to go to court. However, the reason you get a court date is so the judge can here your side of the story. If you were indeed just hanging out with friends, you may have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Also read up on this
http://www.ci.kent.wa.us/citycode/kent0943.asp
It explains SOAR areas. (Stay Out of Areas of Racing) Reading further it looks like you may have been in a designated SOAR area. Same deal, wrong place at the wrong time. Contace the City clerk (number listed on the web sight) They will have the best information about the process, and whether they have a Criminal Citation headed your direction. Either way, you have the right attitude of just taking care of it. If that means fighting it, then more power to you. The ABSOLUTE WORST thing you can do is ignore it. Criminal Citations carry court dates........missed court dates turn into warrants!!!! food for thought..
Hope that helps
