They also have a much better turing radius for dealing w/ parking lots and traffic.

A supersport 600 is too much bike for a beginner. Go for something smaller, or not as agressive.

Try to listen to people who have been riding for many years, there is alot of experience behind what they say.

Damnit, i don't know what to do. i could get the r1, but i don't know. Shoot! Plz let me know what you would do if you were in my position. I need to know this ASAP as by 4 - 5 i'm going to be riding it home! thx
Well, I used to have a gsxr 750, and then went to the R6. That may be why I have not been to satisfied. I have also spoke to many people that were not real experienced riders and started out on the r6 and wanted an r1 in several months. If you like the nice nimble finess handling, get the r6. If you like raw wheelie power and plan on taking ladies for rides without any power loss, you have to and must have the r1. I would rate the r6 as an awesome bike, dont get me wrong. But the r1 takes all. Whatever you choose, have fun!

I have rode bikes for 10 years and dont feel that the r6 is too much of a bike for a beginner. I think a lot of it depends on the maturity of the rider. Now I will admit, dont get yo butt on a 1000 cc superbike or even a 750 as a beginner. But all 600 classes seem to be moderately comfortable for beginners that I have spoken to. I started on a 250 ninja (what a joke, huh?). I feel if you can handle an 11 second evo, and dont start trying to lean your bikes through corners like a grand master, you would be fine. But that is my two cents, or that could be worth 3 cents.

Mine and my bf's are at the bottom. The YZF600R is my first bike. It's a great bike. SV650S is what I was going to get originally but I just liked the yzf a little more and they don't have SV's in black. The pictures of them are at the bottom of the page.

I have been riding since I was 17, started on a 100 cc enduro and worked my way up from there. I agree 100% about the motorcycle saftey course. I was required to take it since I was under 18 when I got my endorsement. As for the size of bike, the 600's out there have plenty of power for a beginer, but they lack romminess that a bigger bike has, but I am 6'3" . I used to ride a Suzuki Katana 600, and it sucked for any rides over 30-45 minutes, my legs would cramp up pretty bad. Once I moved up to a bigger bike I was at home. Sure there is more power, but you must be responsible for your actions, just cuz' a bike goes 200 mph doesn't mean you have to. Wish I still had a bike now tho

Thank you all for your advice. I ended up gettin a 06 Kawasaki Ninja 636 zx6r. Love it. It's that green kawasaki color. i will post some pics as soon as i get home. I am very excited. I rode the bike all weekend and had a chance to get into the poweband a couple of times. OMG!!! it moves!!!! lol, if my 636 feels this fast, i wouldn't know what to do with a R1.... i'll post pics soon! see ya
