I had a 2005 R6 raven, but was stolen three weeks ago. Great bike, but if you are used to an 11 second car, you better save for an R1. The R6 is fun for handling, but after a month or so, the speed is just not enough. Keep in mind I am 6ft at 190 lbs if that helps.
lol, thx all for replies, nice bike there black straight. Lancalot, i am 6ft 190 lbs as well. Is it really that big of a diff? i mean yeah r1 is hella quick, but i think that r6 would be enough, no? ****, i don't know, i've sat on both and the r6 just feels more like me, agile....if that makes sense. lol. Damnit, i don't know what to do. i could get the r1, but i don't know. Shoot! Plz let me know what you would do if you were in my position. I need to know this ASAP as by 4 - 5 i'm going to be riding it home! thx

if your not too experienced on a bike, go with the r6, if your straight on a bike, might as well get the one you'll have the most fun on r1!! my neighbor i ride with all the time has a r1 and he just loves it. whatever one you pick though, you'll have a blast on it.

If you have limited experience stay away from the liter bikes, oh and enroll in the motorcycle course, and watch out for all the four wheeled vehicles.
I used to be a bike enthusiast, I had four bikes over the course of 8 years, my last one being an '03 Honda CRB 954RR. Unfortunately one too many accident caused by other vehicles on the road caused me to hang up my helmet.
If your bike is red I have a red, white, black nicky hayden replica jacket I've been trying to sell.

I am a big time motorcycle enthusiast. I have 5 bikes. I have owned around 10 bikes. I have a BMW Boxer cup replica, an Aprilia Mille, a VOR Dual sport/supermotard, Aprilia Scarabeo, and a Derbi Boulevard. I ride pretty much everday and haven't touched my EVO in about 5 weeks.
If this is your first bike, I would recommend something other then a supersport 600cc or liter bike. I also recommend you buy a used bike w/ no fairings so when you drop it, it won't feel so bad. IMHO, a Kawasaki 500EX or an SV650 would be the best starter bike. These bikes have a much broader powerband for the street which will make you a better rider. They also have a much better turing radius for dealing w/ parking lots and traffic.
Ride one of these bikes for about 5000miles and then go for a supersport 600cc. You definitely need to enroll in a MSF class and you need to enroll now if you want to get into one this summer. If you get an R6 and try to go to the DMV to take the test, you are going to be shocked how hard a supersport bike is to manuever at slow speeds. Which means it will be very difficult for you to pass and get a license.
