Where are you getting the header from Ralph? I was looking at one of them...curious if this one is the same. Are they doing the coating down there for you...and if so how much is it? You might have to bring back something for me after all (if it can still fit with all the stuff Kyle probably ordered )

hm, AFAIK the WR9 is a TiAl stock turbine wheel with 10.5 hotside, and FP 5 blade Al compressor wheel with the Evo IX compressor housing. But now that you asked about it I'm wondering too, maybe I'll call the guys to make sure ...

Since you have a nice list of stuff, any chance they will give us a break on the prices?

I want the o2 housing, Ohlin CO, and cams.

WORKS is sponsoring me, so I'm getting parts at cost and labor at an employee discount. I don't think that pricing extends to parts I pick up for other people (the guys at WORKS have been very nice to me and I don't want to cheat them). However, since you have a pretty good amount of stuff yourself I'm sure they will make you a good price if you ask - and not having to ship the CO will save you a good chunk of money.

Yea, I hope so. I was also going to see if Mountain Mistu would give a deal. But I'm not sure the old parts guy works there anymore (the bald guy with tats). Last time I was there the parts guy was worse then the used car salesmen.

well, I'm glad you made me ask - WORKS isn't sure if what they have on the shelf for me is a TiAl WR with a IX housing (what I was hoping for), or a IX turbo with a WR compressor wheel (not TiAL). They are checking with FP now to make sure ... we'll see what happens.

well, here's the scoop: Iwantmore had it right, the WR9 are all inconel, not TiAl (that stands for Titanium-Aluminde Towelie!). Apparently Forced Performance stopped making the TiAl wheels altogether. While I could have asked them to put a IX compressor housing on a TiAl WR8 as a custom solution, it would have been chancy to get done in time. So instead of asking them to pull a rabbit out of a hat (pun intended), I'll go with the inconel WR9 WORKS has sitting on the shelf for me. I'm also doing a before & after (mustang) dyno, so it should be fun to see what the changes look like .

sorry I didn't even see that post! Here's the list of all the headers I looked at. I figured either the MR (cheap enough to replace if it cracks), or the Borla, but then went with the Borla cause it's coated and has equal length runners (=faster spool).

Turns out that was the same one I was looking at. Just that the site I was looking at didn't mention that it was coated

Funny you should mention that - since Eugene is pretty much half way I figured that's where I'd stay Sunday night. Any recommendations ?

There are a ton of places right off the Hwy. Especially around I5 and beltline (exit 195). Most are on Gateway Rd. The usual stuff is there (like comfort Inn-type stuff).

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences with that turbo and all the other goodies. Travel safe, Ralph.
