I hit the road about 8 am this morning, doing a first pit stop just past Portland. Had some fun with a WRX on the FW, radar was dead silent - no cops anywhere in sight . I'm making pretty good time, might hit Eugene for late lunch (~2pm).

 

my lead foot got the better of me . I'm already in Eugene and am just gonna stop for lunch. I'll be at the "6th Street Grill" downtown Eugene for the next hour (until about 2:30pm. Come stop by if you want to see the car - look for a guy in a black ROBISPEC shirt and a laptop on the table.

Progress Update: I stopped in Yreka after I got into CA, but even my trusty cell phone modem internet didn't work there, so I couldn't post pics earlier. Good driving weather and the scenery after going over Grants Pass was very pretty .







Now I parked my *** in Redding (CA) at a subway to take a break. I'm thinking I'll make it to Sacramento tonight and bunk there. A couple of close encounters with local law enforcement, but my trusty radar detector always gave me enough warning to slow down - so no tickets yet . Expect the next update to be from WORKS tomorrow .

Glad to see you made it in safe. No tickets? Looks like kid in candy store phenomenon down there. If they're tight on space I could take one of those cars (preferably the Noble) off their hands

 

hehe, I know that thing is sick! I'd give my first born for just the (adjustable!) CF rear diffuser on it - couple more pics below. Ran into some snags though too: the dyno is down until tomorrow, so we won't be able to do a baseline 'til then, which means I won't be there to take video (I have to be in San Jose tonight to show the flag at the Space 2006 conference). Also my damn header is no where to be found and the guys where I ordered it from are giving me "the computer is down so I can't give you a tracking number" grrr. If it's not here tomorrow I'll have to get one overnighted from a different vendor which is going to cost me ... BTW did you guys know WORKS is moving into a new facility right on Infineon Raceway? I might get a sneak peek on Fri if we head out there to custom tune the car .
