APS BOV, I want to try!

Who's got an APS BOV that I can try out on my car? Just looking to see if it solves the surging issues I have at part throttle. Shouldn't take more than a few pulls to test.

Holla.

James has one. It holds perfect, no surging at all. And, it is very quite like stock. I am sure you are putting out more power than him (hes at 425whp) but it seems like a solid BOV. I am sure he would let you use it for a couple pulls. He will be back in town Sunday or Monday. Shoot him a PM. (ceasar)

Sorry, can't help you out but wanted to chime in and say that it works perfectly on the 35R setup I'm running now.

I am using a friends APS on mine. I absolutely love it. My stocker leaked at my boost level and it would try to pop open pulling a hill in 5th or 6th and I would get massive compressor surge. I have tried literally EVERYTHING I can to get this bov to fumble and it hasn't once. I'm ordering one asap so my friend can have his back after 2 months

I commonly hear it's quiet but with my ARC intake and 26psi that sucker is loud...much louder than my OEM IX valve. We did it back to back...big difference. Don't think its as loud as the Forge but it's definately noticable that is ain't stock.

James has the ARC intake also and it is not quite on his car. But on the other cars I have heard it on its pretty quite.

You know I swear the ARC makes the sound echo. Even the sound of my turbo is louder than most other intakes (mind you I've had 4-5 different intakes ) I've noticed the higher boost really makes it louder too. I've let it off next to a couple suv's in the lane next to me and watch the passenger jump and stare at my car...quite comical (and ricerish)

Yeah I'm not worried about holding boost so much. My Forge does that great. It's the part-throttle surging and bucking I need to fix. My car was useless at Pacific Raceways with the Forge. It was OK on my stock turbo, but not now.

I was able to improve on that a lot by changing the vacuum line that controls the BOV. When I switched from the stock line patchwork to a stainless braided hose with the shortest possible run from the manifold to the BOV it made a big difference. I can't prove why it worked, but I suspect that the stock (soft) rubber hoses were balloning under boost. Most cheap vacuum hose is only rated to 40psi (in my case) and boosting 27psi + 14psi atmo = 41psi which was too much. The stainless braided hose is fuel line spec (rated to 175 psi). To be fair, it didn't fix it completely, but it did improve a lot - the rest I work around with the way I use the throttle ...
