Whats the Best !Seattle! Area Tuner?
. Ah well, the NW section did need some livening up....its been too quiet in here as of late.
Damn all this coughing....gotta get that checked out. j/k.
Hello everyone, it's me Dom.
I found this thread on accident and I want to clear a few things up. Then you guys can make your own opinion about me.
Mo's car:
Showed up, not running right. I jokingly make comments about mistu****y or ****subishi. It was all in jest. He bought a car that was not running right and I thought he was friends with a friend of mine. So I ribbed him a little. I'm sorry, Mo, that you were offended. It was in jest.
His car showed up with a tune on it. I have no idea where it came from. We drove the car around to try and find the problem. I obviously had no way of knowing the balance shaft was in the car 180 degrees out. Big f'n sorry on that part. I tweaked the tune that was on there during the troubleshooting process. That's it! I didn't steal anyone's tunes or anything like that. I'm not a thief. I hate thieves and liars more than anything in this world!
Did anyone ask Mo what I charged for said "tune" or troubleshooting? I think it was like 20 bucks....
Tyler's car:
he drives that thing freakin' hard! nuff said!
Oh and my mechanic forgot to remove the resistor box when installing a set of injectors in his car after his rebuild. You guys didn't know that one, but I'm putting that out here for you guys. We installed them and he went to ER for his tune. Lucas caught the error with the injectors.
My tuning:
I'm the best in the land. LOL NOT!
I'm a believer in English Racing for EVO's. Just as others should believe in me for Subarus.
I don't hate evos. However, I own 5 subarus. The evo/sti rivalry has been around since longer than most of you could drive. It's my duty as a subaru guy to make jokes.
I know the EJ series engine has a list of engineering flaws that the 4G63 has done right.
The difference is that the EJ engine was designed for the restrictor classes in rally racing. The 4G was not. What that means is that the 4G63 is a better all out race engine while the EJ maintains a more constant piston speed throughout the stroke which helps with restricted engines.
A little more about evo tuning:
as you all know, you have to get the immobilizer data off the existing ecu. So I always pull the rom. 90% of the time, I use the map on the car and adjust from there. If I happen to have a map that I already tuned for another car with the same mods, I might drop that one on there as a start after transferring the immobilizer data.
What this means is that it's possible that the original tune was done by someone else and I modified from there. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel here and I'm not stealing.
regardless, I charge for my time. It doesn't matter what the car started with. There is no reason to start over if the car needs just a little tweak due to different mods.
I don't talk trash about other shops. I find it very unprofessional. In fact, I frequently call shops and talk to them when I find that trash talking has gone on. Plain and simple, your ability should be your testament to your work, not someone else's faults. I am exceptionally offended by ER in this thread because we aren't even competitors. So why bash? They can't possibly be worried about me with their reputation.
lastly, I don't know who EVOFACE is. He obviously sounds like he knows me and he might. However, I don't know the screen name. I do appreciate him sticking up for me against what I find to be unfair and unfounded bashing.
