Another MS3 --> Evo convert!

But to point out your innacuracies the quotes above should do nicely.
Let me know where this wasnt addressed in my post.
Ryan, all do respect... it would take the same driver in the cars to really tell what car is faster in a street race. Your ability might be much higher than his, your ***** might be bigger. I personally wouldn't have ever done what you guys did, and if I did I would have been timid of getting caught.
That's what the track is for.
That's what the track is for.

For the price of an MS3 (MSRP), nothing compares.
Backyard mountain runs don't mean anything as far as comparison's (atleast in my eyes)...case in point I frequently went on rides with friends R1's and GSXR1000's and could easily pass them in the corners. My car isn't faster they just couldn't ride.
On another note...just seen you are a detailer...may be hitting you up soon as it looks like you do good work. I have a whole slew of Menzerna products just never had the time to put them to use.

We all have our places to drive. I like the track plenty. But a nice dead-end forest road late at night and out of tourist season when others arent around suits me fine as well.
And many of the statements your making boil down to drivers skill. So if that really is the #1 factor, why bash a capable platform like the MS3?
If you knock $5K-7K off the MSRP of a evo you get the ralliart. And the ralliart is not as good on street or track as the MS3. (as confirmed by the journo's who tested with the same driver, same course, same day/weather)
Take all that with a grain of salt. I sold my MS3 for a evo, as did the OP. obviously we were ready to invest more $$$ to raise the envelope up to evo-like levels.

Please don't start saying how Miata's dominate the road courses too... I've seen a few MS3's at the track, but none that were even worth looking at after a session.
Um, yeah, people have been dying their 8 seats since the 8 released...
And yep, FWD feels like a total rip-off in everything I've driven, including the MS3.
True that, I made 276 whp on a Mustang Dyno with catless tbe, drop-in filter, mbc, and tune... And that was a long time ago... With tuning now and ECU controlled boost I bet it would've been more like 290.

To clarify a point, I don't think anyone is really bashing. I have seen everyone mentioning personal examples with different vehicles (evos, ms3s, etc.). Based on that definition I could say you previous ms3 owners are bashing Evos but I can clearly see that you aren't.
its more than we're allowed to bash our former cars as we were better able to comprehend its weak spots and how the Evo fulfils those, yet the evo has some weak points of its own that we must overcome.
I bet the OP wasnt loving the lack of cruise control on that trip from CA!
I miss the auto-climate control, storage capacity, fold down rear seats (my ex and I fit back there nicely!), fuel economy (observed nearly 29 mpg through the life of the Mazder), Cruise control, radio controls on the steering wheel and most importantly the FWD.
Edit: I dont miss the FWD
