You got your Evo new without functional AC from the factory, and it took 2 years to take it in? LOL!

Well, to be honest Korum has been pretty dissapointing.

Day 1: Call ahead and make appt to drop off car
Day 2: Drive 50 miles to dealership: If something (anything including a dash light bulb!) needs to be fixed they inspect,
Day 3: they contact the "rep" to get approval. (and tell you what part of the warranty is voided)
Day 4: Drive 50 miles home in borrowed car (they dont offer loaners) they order parts,
Day 9-12: Parts might arrive
Day 13: schedule appt for the installation of said parts
Day 14: Drive 50 miles to dealership to install parts
Day 15: they didnt notice shocks were blown so please return to "day 1" and repeat process

Example of service at University Mazda:

Day 1: Call ahead to make appt.
Day 2: Show up and drop off car, receive free loaner car no questions asked, parts are ordered and installed same day, drop off rental car and drive home .
Day 3: Be merry

Now, i'm a simple man and not capable of complex computations in my head, but something very, very, very, very wrong is going on here..... Might this be why Mitsu is having troubles operating in the United States???

Yes I do. It was probably mine as it was there from Wednesday-Saturday morning of last week.

Now I know what your going to ask: "They had your car for 3.5 days, So is it fixed yet????"

Answer: Of course not! Parts **might** arrive by THIS saturday for install. (Mitsu FAIL)

Usually Korum is fine...just gotta have a lil patience, but this time around is a lil different. *PS- anytime you bring a EVO in for warranty work, it has to be inspected*

My car is currently there for service...

9/17- Made appt to bring car in for window issue/engine noise (scraping), and new key.

9/21- take car in (i waited 2hrs). They diagnosed..said i need new regulator (warranty) and couldnt yet verify the engine noise. i said i would leave it overnight so they can test it in the morning... *key needed to be ordered*
9/22- havent heard a damn thing yet...and its 4:00PM. lmao luckily i have another car to drive around...

Im fine with them not having loaners. not all places offer them... and my car was still driveable if i really needed it.

however... i dislike the lack of communication. i havent heard a damn thing since yesterday when i left the dealership at 1215PM. i better hear in the AM what the heck is going on....

Bah, you could all have my situation. Bought car in Renton Walker Mitsubishi. Worked with Service Mgr on mods, got FMIC, LMIC, CB exhaust all OK'd, I got track days OK'd (As long as it's not racing, and does not require a license.) and 6 months later they become a Mazda dealership. No more loaner cars, no established repatuar with said dealer, off to try to start over and hopfully not have my warranty voided.

Yea, well my car grinds just a tad shifting into 3rd, but have no transmission warranty due to the "rep" saying: "the bolts on the transmission look newer than the other engine bolts, this means that its been changed and I voided your warranty".

So because I steam cleaned the tranny housing you voided my warranty? (I like to steam clean the undercarriage.... sue me)

Now, it does have an Exedy stage 2 clutch/flywheel so most likely once they opened it up they would void the warranty and bill me..... But i'd like to at least get to that point before they void the warranty.

^^^ i hear ya!

i got news today... i get a new window regulator. but they pinpointed my noise to 2 things...

i need a new serp belt (they state noise goes away when they took off belt.... BUUUUT doesnt that mean it could be like the w/p..p/s...alt??its a scraping noise)
valves need adjusting

and since thats normal routine maintainence...nothing is covered.

im also at a point where i need my 60k service, timing belt, clutch is on its way out (holds plenty fine..just chatters a bit on takeoff). needs the valve adjustment and needs new spark plugs & SERP belt

woo!! $3100+tax .....think ill do some of this myself and take the clutch job to ER

yowza! What are they saying they charge for the timing belt alone? I know the 30k was like $800 and change and that is all easy. I haven't done the timing belt on the Evo but it looks pretty significant.

Clutch to ER is where it is at. Good to hear yours is lasting to about 60k. They do timing belts too, but not sure what they charge. You could kill 2 birds there!

Have you done tranny fluids? Probably won't fix things but it might help for a bit longer. It might also be interesting to see how many shavings come out of there.
