Meet at Steven's pass!
so you dont need another key in the car to make it run or something like that guy told me? he said i have to have a second key made and put it in this little box and the car will start, ****ing weird!
^^ I thought it was illegal to get the remote start on a manual car. I tried to get it with the lude, but car toys said they couldnt give me a reciept/they won't allowed to do it
I've never heard of it being illegal. There are usually a lot of failsafes to doing remote start on a standard, though. Must be in neutral, e-brake must be engaged, etc.
Blue - was the guy thinking you have a X? Some of those have the key fob so you don't need an ignition key. Maybe that is what they are thinking?

Winter tires are overrated, AWD and knowing how to drive in the snow and ice is all Ýou need.
If winter tires are needed, studs are the only way, this comes from a lot of tire experience, toyo observes, and blizzaks suck on ice and packed snow.
I agree, any place in Monroe is good, Albertson's is a little easier and more of a straight shot to 2 than Safeway but either way.
I would much rather go early and be out sooner, but night skiing is a little cheaper.
I'm down for whenever, just let me know what's up Dan, I forgot that hand repair stuff in your truck. I gotta grab it so don't let me forget, my hands are cracking again. Effing cold weather.

The problem with winter tires - they usually suck in comparison to all-seasons in wet and dry. I've seen a few 3rd party (non-biased) comparisons to a tire company's own lineup of all-season to winter tires (extreme all-season to extreme winter, and everything in between) and there is noticeably better skidpad and stopping performance on the most dedicated winter tires in the ice. In the wet and dry they are considerably worse than the all-seasons, and of course the cost for the extreme winter tires are usually the highest (Blizzaks can get spendy, unless you score a deal!).
Bottom line, there is no one tire that fits all needs, as we all know. I personally don't think it snows or gets icy enough in this area of WA to warrant winter tires. If I lived in Spokane and my Evo was my daily driver it would be a different story, though. If I planned to hit the slopes non-stop during the winter, then I might also run a dedicated winter tire, but for daily driving away from the slopes they would suck compared to other tires.
One thing that some of you may not be thinking about is the clearance on the Evo. If you have adjustable coilovers, put them batches into monster-truck mode! Some of the parking lots at resorts get nice grooves and all the siping and studs in the world won't save you from getting high-centered, or digging your lip into the ground!
BTW - that address people are looking at for Safeway is correct. Jordon is also right in that the Albertson's is a bit easier to get out of. Both have pretty unforgivingly fast lights, though. One of the better places to meet is at a Chevron up the road about 10 miles, just past Sultan. The address is:
Chevron Mt View Gas & Deli
33902 State Route 2Sultan
WA 98294-6400
yes the evo needs to use one of the keys for remote start because to use remote start you have to bypass the stock immobilizer system thus you will lose a key for remote start. im putting it on mine when i get it back =) oh and F car toys

Correct!
1) Manuals Transmissions, by law. Are not supposed to have remote start due to liability issues if car is remote started while in gear. I got mine done, but I'm not saying thier name and I didn't get a receipt either.
2) Evo does have an immobilizer chip, but if you do happen to get a shop to install remote start for you, you would need a second key inside the remote start control box with transponder box in order for it to work. (Be prepared to pay $50-$150 for an extra Evo key and another $75-$125 for a transponder box.)
3) There is also a killswitch so that if your car is autostarted, and the E-brake or Regular Brakes are engaged, the autostart will turn off should a theft be attempted. Also put your box in a secure location with an external box around the transponder box to prevent theft of key. But theres another killswitch for that as well. I have approximately 5 killswitches on mine, so no one is taking my Evo with autostart.
4) If you do happen to get all the above steps...... never park your car in gear. (I've done this more than once, good thing nothing major happened.) =X

Oh yeah, I did forget about that Cheveron, cool thing about there is they also sell lift tickets. So you buy your ticket there then just park in the upper lot, ski down and get on a lift, no hiking to the lodge.
UnfortunatelÝ I have to work with tires, so just by experience on hundreds of cars a year I have found that studs are the only real way to go.
But I do agree, its not bad enough here for them, unless you have a two wheel drive. Although I did have to rock the Beagle a gew times, just because its so low I plowed and got stuck.
And I used to have slicks, those didn't help much.
