Man, a clutch that burns up in 370 miles of grandma driving is bad. Very bad.

The clutch costs $280+ shipping on ebay and you get what you pay for. I unfortunately learned how crappy they were on one of my Evo's going back to stock as it would burn up in regular driving and smoke smell would linger for days.

You would have been better off with a oem unit from the dealer.
i have a exedy stage 1 kit. i havent had any problems with it.i did the breakin period at 1k. i've put about 4k miles on it. i got my on ebay. the car runs good. hit the throttle and lots of power. maybe i'm one of the lucky ones.

Actually the Evo 1-3 is a cheaper version.

The Evo 7-9 unit is $395

I'm gonna continue to take it easy through the break-in period til 800-1000 then see how it is. Like I've stAted before...it's been just fine for 380 miles until yesterday. Nothigg really makes sense...

Hopefully it was just a fluke thing.... No strange noise/smell since yesterday. I just tried backing the car out at work and nothing abnormal and no smells...

I'll update if anything else happens... Still seems to grab really well.

if you only experiencing slight burn smell its not going to wear in few hundred miles. However going with this clutch will most likely make you drive you car more carefull not to damage it, taking away fun from driving.
I had the same issues with mine, took it apart twice in the 2 year period and finally got excedy twin. Over a year now with 450 WHP, drives perfect, launches perfect, no noise. Just some personal info

Good luck.
