Valvecover powdercoating
^i wonder how the spraypaint + clear coat held after the job. i followed the how to on re-clearcoating the brembos but now they are already chipping away. i use strong wheel cleaner though maybe thats why.
i want to get a powdercoated valve cover but i cant decide which color to go for. btw my car is yellow FYI. im thinking of keeping it simple. brembo red valvcovers to match the calipers... hmmmm

FWIW - there is a writeup on EvoGarage for both painting calipers and also a general howto on brakes. If either of those guides are good for you I wouldn't waste my time if I were you.
They have to be completely broken down, all seals taken out.
This is the correct way to coat them, we have a set right now where they didn't take them apart and coated everything including the pistons
Paint and powder, they both have their pros and cons.
Powder coat is more durable than any paint out there, but you can't go crazy with designs or multi colors with powder coat. Paint is not as durable but of course you can airbrush, do designs with paint etc.
Painted the pistons?!
I included the link as I wasn't sure if you had seen it. I figure if it wasn't good enough for you, you'd make it right. I definitely bow to the master's judgement!

Definitely not a master, but thanks
