New tires in Vancouver area?

Hey everyone, at the end of April and/or beginning of may I'll be in Vancouver for roughly a week. I come down to visit family from Calgary, AB at least once a year. I'm planning to get new summer tires, but was wondering if anyone could recommend any great shops to get them installed? I might also get other work done - have to see what will be due on my car around that time.

I'm considering ordering the tires from TireRack and paying a shop to install them before I head back to Calgary, or just buying them directly from a shop and having them swap my tires around.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The ones that I saw would be too large for my car. I'm planning to simply put summers on my stock 15s as I've done in the past (205 55 15).

Americas Tire is your best bet for getting a good price. They've been $300 cheaper on the same set of tires than Schwab was for a set of 18" KDW-NTs. They usually seem to work quicker than Schwab, too.

^I loathe those loud-*** BFGs! I wish they would die already but the forever tread knows no bounds!

I didnt think they were that bad. Ive driven a few different cars with them and they havent bothered me. They probably arent the most quiet, but they are high performance tires. Their tread is deep.

^they are high-performance in comparison to the A/S that I run during the normal winters, but they don't copmare to Z1s, NT05s, RT-615s, Ventus Evos, etc., IMO. They are about mid-pack as far as stiffness/performance I've noticed, and this is the loudest tire (with the corresponding immediate hit to fuel consumption) I've ever had on a passenger car. I've seen tire comparos that back this up as usually the loudest tire in their shootout.

That said, the tread is deep so they last a long time, and they were pretty cheap when I picked them up. Mine were referred to as KDW2 when I bought them but I know they are also referred to as -NT, but I don't think there are differences between the two. Maybe Keegan can clarify.

Thanks guys! I'm planning to go with Yokohama S-Drives on mine. I was surprised at how much longer they lasted than the AVS ES100s they replaced, so figure if they worked, might as well keep with them!

Discount Tire / America's Tire is where it's at for sure. I have done all my tires with them for a long time and been very satisfied.
