Speaking for the noobs including myself. What exactly do I need to participate in this event?

1. Insurance
2. Experience
3. A helmet
4. Common sense and the ability to drive...

Anything else im missing please label?

I would love to go to this but I have never did any auto x events yet. Only 1/4 tracks.

On the other hand.... Can I pay someone to ride shotgun? I need to get the feel for this before I attempt it.

Yep. He has quite a few years of experience . I learnt way more from driving along with him than just about anything else. Anyway, I'll try to stop derailing this thread.

Back on topic, I wonder if PGP would be open to having one of these days on a national holiday? Or some other time during the week....

Come out and autocross first then. An autocross course is the safest environment to learn your limits. BSCC is holding an event this Sunday. Check out www.bscc.net for the details.

Don't you get any time off up there? PTO stands for "Paid Track Outting".

And I'm out for PGP, got the EVO almost ready for Portland on the 20th now, and I might do IRDC.

I get 3 weeks a year + 2 anytime days. 2 weeks are spent in the sunshine in Barbados. Leaving me with 1 week for the rest of the year. My parents/sister are coming this year so that's where the majority of the rest of that time is going.

It's like $31 to ride shotgun, you could pay the $50 or so dollars and ride with someone for part of the day, then go out and take it slow until you get the feel, no one is going to force you to go all out, this is also a learning deal for a lot of people besides yourself!

No, you pay the track $31 for a pass to ride passenger all day, or you can pay ~$50 to do both ride along and drive if you feel like it.

I'm in, unless its pouring rain. A wet track would be fun, but not with rivers on it.

I called PGP and they said its $100. We'll see. Still a lot of fun for $100...
