Yet another ****ty day.
Eh... not too bad i guess but frustrating non the less.
While at the dyno day a few weeks ago dan noticed a wire that was severed (appeared to be chewed through) I then put 2 and 2 together, and figured it must be my oil temp gauge line, because it had not been working for the previous week. My alarm had also been randomly giving the 'warning" beep for shock sensor... but i could never find anything. I started thinking maybe a damn rat was sexing up my car.
I also noticed when I was trying to splice that wire back together some residue on my spark plug cover. Appeared to be oil, touched it and smelled it... yup cat ****.
Last night driving home from the gym a saw a big mother ****ing rat running across my carport.
Today I went to dinner with the GF and her friend, then to a movie (Love and Other Drugs) and both women were complaining that the car had a 'fishy' smell. It sure as hell did and it smelled terrible. I open the glove box to see if the air filter is visibly dirty, and i see that cat **** residue in there.
(side note) Love and Other drugs is an amazing movie, Anne Hathaway has some amazing ****... never woulda guessed but they are hanging out about half the movie...
SOOOO i bought a buncha rat poison.... but I think i have another problem. The insulation by the firewall appears to have been disturbed, but i am not sure because i never really paid attention to it. the right and left side all the way back into the engine bay appears to have been messed up (rat chewing) it is not black but the multi foam color now, is the entire insulation black in your guy's evos?
long rant i know, thank god all this **** has been minor... every week something happens and people keep telling me this car is a curse... but so far its worth it.

All I read was Anne Hathaway's ****....
J/K bro, sorry to hear! I advise getting up on whatever animal is in there and cleaning it up fast, 'cause those smells don't go away easy once they dry.

Sorry bout the bad luck, Derek. Wish I could let you borrow my moms cat. He's hugh and kills everything outside (rats, moles, birds, and even rabbits). And he'll bring the heads back to you

I would set up traps instead of poison. The rat could eat it then find a place to die in your car. You might end up searching for the body while it rots. GL getting it though.

Update.
Today i got my cabin filter at oriellys for 10$ and went home to change it out (was the earliest they could get it)... and I didnt want to take my old one out without having an immediate replacement....
took out the cabin filter and it looked pretty damn dirty for being in there less than 1.5k miles ... then i looked at the hole where it goes, and it was COMPLETELY full of leaves and ****, and i saw something furry. Asked my neighbor to use his shopvac and got all the **** out... the rat used my firewall material as bedding and made his nest ontop of the cabin filter.
I got the half decomposed furry thing out, have no idea what is is/was... too small to be a rat, perhaps a mouse (or the food of the big ****ing rat i saw outside).
Something ate the poison, hopefully it died in the woods next to my house, i will be getting traps on my way home from work tonight @ 2 am.
Also sprayed half a can of lysol in the cabin air intake/vents/glove box .... it makes me sick to think i was driving around with that ****, breathing it in...

Anyone know how I should repair my firewall? he made a hole that goes right into the passenger side intake for the cabin air, and nested on top of the filter. Can i just tape up the firewall or does it get hot? ... i have set up traps now, only snapped my finger once and i am now sitting and watching the window... i got all night you bastard, this is war
