Theoretical question... make a clone Evo 6 or buy another 9?
that would be awesome to check out your car. Can you PM me if you mind... but I'm interested in how you built yours... and how much it cost. Recommendations, etc.
Thanks

IMO if you want a DD, a real DD, get a X MR. Do the basic bolt-ons and tune so it doesn't feel like an anemic turd, and call it a day.
As for the 6, you gotta realize it's a project. No project makes a good DD, and there's no way to build a legit 6 in a reasonable amount of time, so right back to project status.
You have a 9, and you race it and mod it. It would only be a matter of time before you were driving your new DD 9 and thought "hmm this would sure be nice with a set of DFV's and a good streetable alignment... Wait, I should get the exhaust/ic piping/fuel pump/tune while I'm at it too...."
X is more comfortable, better NVH, flappy paddles, and has cruise control.

For pure daily status the X MR. For doing anything other than a tune...X GSR. For something along the lines of what Eric is asking for, Evo IX and just put the miles on it.

for me another IX or maybe X would be a no brainer..then again I cant weld and fabricate like you can. For you the 6 could probably be a fun project but do you want another project or a DD?

I vote X GSR for a daily driver. After having one and now having a 8, I can honestly say the X was a great daily driver but the 8 is a heck of a lot more fun overall. I have driven a stock X SE and after that I was truely happy that I had gotten the GSR over a paddle shift.
Actually if you look at the market, a 9 is just as expensive as a X. I have seen some Evo x's go for around 22-25k and that seems pretty close to what a 9 goes for.
