Theoretical question... make a clone Evo 6 or buy another 9?

How much to buy one? Can they be legally registered and approved by the federal government?

I'd definitely get the house, low 3% interest rates on 30 year mortgages and rock bottom prices. Just bought one myself a few months ago, feels good man.

I would go with the Evo 9. Dollar for dollar spent, the 9 will always out perform the Evo 6 clone. Plus, if it's going to be your daily driver, it will be easier to maintain in the long run.

I know someone down here in the bay area that has one of 3 legally imported Evo 6.5 TME. I have seen it (almost got to drive it) and it has all the proper documentation to be driven in CA of all places.

It's a bad *** little EVO with less than 25k miles on it. I think the latest owner picked it up for around $25k a couple of years ago, I remember seeing it when it was for sale.

Might be able to get a VII as far as that goes since its a CT9A chassis which is legal (met all requirements for crash and emissions). Then you could get a GTA

Buy a USDM evo and call it good. Or get the house if you really are looking into keeping it at least 10-15 years. Anything less than that and that's a bad investment as well.

Get a IX and keep it civil. You will likely mod it later but nothing wrong with stock block in the 400's. I plan to do the same one day soon.

I think you are making this WAY TOO complicated, buy a totaled mirage take vin #.
Have me pick up a evo6 for small fee of course (I am in Japan right now and old cars here are CHEAP as long as its not a TommyM edition) swap vins and your done.

And while were at it when WRC actually used to be good and used cars that were actually AWD from the factory.
