Need help guys..

I haven't done any mods to my car other than the dome lights. I'd like to get my headlights to have a 5k hid's and foglights to be yellow with yellow film. Does anyone where I can get a 5k hid's or yellow foglights color? do I need to get the whole hid kit with ballast? or do they sell just the bulbs? I'm really new to modifications but got to start somewhere.

I've also ordered the strut bar that everyone has been talking about, hopefully within this week I can get them in.

I'm still waiting for a drop in filter for 2013 outlander sport to arrived or for someone to mention where I can get one.

Advance thanks for all the comments

If it is any help. I just installed the Noyka 5000k halogen bulbs. I think they look just as good as the HID sets. It only cost about $60 altogether. Also with the drop in filter fir the 2013. I heard that they changed the shape of the air box and no one has made a filter to fit it yet.

Is there a link to the strut tower bar that everyone is getting. I would like to get one also.

I got the lights from a friend that owns a shop. You should be able to google them though . Yes they were easy the access and change out . Took about 5 mins . I'll try and post a pic later.

OP, do you have stock HID's and you're just wanting to switch from the OEM 4300K to 5000K? Or do you have halogen lights and want HID's? If you have halogens now, I highly recommend AGAINST getting HID's and just going with the halogens wildcardnc suggested. HID bulbs in a non-projector housing have been proven by the DOT and outside test groups to output LESS usable light, and also blind oncoming traffic. Not to mention that HID's in a non-projector housing are actually illegal in most states.

If you have OEM HID's, I'm just going to mention that although the 5000K have a nicer color in many peoples opinion, the OEM 4300K will have better light output/be brighter.

Yes I want to switch to 4300K to 5000K. I want HID's and yes I am going with a nicer color rather than a better light output. I thought that outlandersport has projectors? or did I misunderstood what you mean by non-projector housing? I've seen HID kit for $30 bucks but not entirely sure if it matter what brand. Again, I am all new to this.

4300K to 5000K will probably be such a small difference in output I don't think you'll find it bothersome. You might, MIGHT, notice it, but I doubt it will be an issue. Also, they might LOOK brighter to you, but that's just because the whiter/bluer color tricks your eyes a bit.

I know the SE model comes with projectors and HID's, but the ES model (2wd usually and always if 5 speed) comes with halogen headlights. If the halogens are still in the projector housings, IDK, I just assumed they were not.

So, if you already have OEM HID's, and want to switch from the stock 4300K to 5000K you'll be happy to know that it's not going to cost you very much money. The ballasts are rated in watts. I assume, pretty confidently, that our stockers are 35 watt. In another thread around here there was a nit of a disagreement between if the OEM bulbs are D1S or D2S, but my guess is that they're D2S as it's rare for an OEM to use D1S.

So, what does all these abbreviations and acronyms mean to you? It means that you should just buy one of these:
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=1250 Great company, quality products.
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/HI...lacements-Pair Mixed reviews, but many people have never had any negative experiences. I'd probably go with DDM personally.
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...ducts_id=10591 By far the best HID bulbs available, with actually more lumens output than the OEM 4300K, but wayyyyy pricey.

I believe the ES model has projectors, but not HID bulbs. From all the pictures of ES's, I can still see the projector.
