Actually, I had thought the same.... However, if you look closely, the image they used for "before & after" are two different vehicles.

The image with the shield-plate that's mounted in the 1st photo with that "U" cutout for the "jackpoint" is similarly located to our O.Sport's center tow-hook and its bolt points looks close to same areas of an official Mitsu Outlander Sport skidplate, so it may work.

(I have no idea what vehicle they're showing in their example photo for "before' 2nd image. Also, you can clearly see red colored bolts & subframe in the "shield" photo while your 2nd photo does not show any indication of red on that vehicle, so I have to conclude they are two different vehicles. )

Not sure what's going on here, but if you look closely you can see this ASX does come/have a belly plate.
