Backup Camera Parking Grid/Guidelines
Backup Camera Parking Grid/Guidelines
Hi Guys,
I have tried to search for this but I couldn't find it anywhere.
I am planning on installing the AVIC-Z140BH with a backup camera.
The question is the following: Is the parking grid (guide lines) directed by the software on the Pioneer deck or is it dictated by the camera itself?
Can somebody recommend a camera that will allow me to have the parking grid/guidelines?
I drive an RVR (Outlander Sport 2011)
Thank you for the help in advance!

When we had the accident, I should have ripped out the backup cam that was hangin... I would have been able to disassembled and test it to see if those guidelines were part of the cam or the monitor system.

this camera is a direct fit, no drilling required (just take the plastic cover on the left side of the license plate lamps and put the camera in the hole and hold the camera by using the same clip). I use this one with a LCD mirror to make the backup monitor possible.

You can't really compare the two at all since the aperture lines are used in relation to target distance and bullet trajectory. By having the rear bumper on display you can literally see how close an object is to your bumper. The only time they were very useful to me is on a vehicle where the camera is perfectly centered and I was able to use the side guidelines to back into perpendicular spaces with perfect evenness on both sides of my vehicle.
