Maybe it would be easier to just replace the clamp with a t-bolt or something along those lines?

Yeah.
That may be something I'll have to do...

Silly that I'd have to do that, but I suppose it's minor enough.

T-Bolt Clamps

wow.. I know I haven't boned up on hose clamps in awhile, but there's some fancy ones out there...

Standard:






(I don't believe they make t-bolt clamps that small to accomedate our 5/8" hose..)
