How to fish rear view camera to head unit

Found this little gem on YouTube

Start at the 1 minute mark. From this video, it looks like the best way is to go through the passanger side for the easy glove box area access. Not sure what I'm going to wire the camera into through, because I want it to be on with ignition so I can watch my hitch when I'm carrying bikes.

That is exactly the same route I took to run the wire from the license tag area, through the hatch and down what our side of the world would be...the driver's side. So don't worry that the one in the video is right-hand drive. As a matter of fact, you don't even have to take the A-Pillar off.

I'm having trouble installing my backup camera. How do I connect the wires so that the headunit automatically switches to the camera when I put it in reverse? The guys in the video wired the black cable that has the + and - wire directly to the reverse light harness, but then where does the other + cable from the signal cable go? I also want to be able to turn on the camera manually instead of having to put it in reverse.

Okay, I think I understand how this works now. According to this thread
http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/...backup-camera/

I have to connect the red wire that's attached to the RCA plug to the reverse wire on the headunit. Then I connect that same wire coming out the other side to the tail light's positive wire? and the black cable that comes with - and + wires, I connect that positive to an accessory wire as the main power source?

Nevermind I figured it out.

I'm sure you know there's the feature on your AVIC-D3 to toggle on the Rear-View Camera feature as well.
