Regarding the engine remapping the car itself will adapt. Once you get it installed you should let the car idle for a while, which allows the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor to accurately analyze the new airflow, and the ECU/ECM (whatever it's called) will tweak the air/fuel ratios, timing, variable valve settings, or whatever it does normally.

Swapping the intake is no different than drastic changes in elevation. The MAF senses a change in air flow or density and responds according.

Thanks guys, I mean it. Between the group of you, your a endless fountain of Outlander knowledge. Newbish as they (my questions) may be, I appreciate the insight and knowledge.

If it weren't for the snow and freezing rain right now I would go get those pictures but it looks ugly today and for the next few.

I'm new to the forum and wanted to share that I installed my Takeda Air Intake yesterday on my 2012 OS. Thanks OP for the heads up on accessing the intake tubing on the TB. I ended up temporarily removing the OEM snorkel and used a drive palm ratchet with an extension to reach. The CVT struggle is now tolerable and feels more responsive taking off. I also installed an OEM Evo X front strut bar. I noticed a drastic improvement in steering, especially on highway ramps. Very little body lean and understeer! All in all, the upgrades are definitely worthwhile.

Newark, NJ. I'm taking my OS on a 400 mile round trip to Massachusetts and Albany today. Should be a good test for my new parts, mpg and performance wise. My Lexia diagbox came the other day, but didn't have a chance to play with the software as of yet.

I might be a little late to the party here, but I have one of these. My 2014 has a different Mass Airflow Sensor mount, mine's a diamond shape. I made it fit, but I'm going to be looking to see if the 12-13 one is compatible with mine. Be warned, if you have a 2014....that little sensor mounting bracket is going to be your headache...and no one ever seems to know about it when you call to ask.

The engine in these vehicles is LOUD as HELL already, you guys can seriously tolerate this? The drone around 2500RPM is insane! Does this at least change the tone?

I think so. I kinda like it, and while I'm not gonna lie and sayou I got hp...it feels better and has more get up and go off the line. Not a ton but it's certainly more enjoyable than it was.

I usually have my music pretty loud so I don't hear much engine noise.

If you find a intake compatible with the 2014-2015 models let me know the maf sensor seems to be the only thing that's different
