This is something that should be investigated as you have a Canadian model. So the equipment list could vary from US spec cars. Perhaps MMC doesn't use it because it is assumed it is cooler in CA. So the first thing you'd have to find out is which models get the external CVT cooler and which ones don't and are those models equipped with AWC. Regardless, your CVT has a cooler. Its under your battery tray and it looks like two cans of tuna fish stacked on top of one another and you can always add an OEM cooler if you so desire.

You know what.. After your comment, I had to look and double check for myself.
I think you're slightly off but it appears you may be onto something >

Not tuna.. they're sardines.

Well, good sir..
That's the catch of the day and that's where they be found.

(If I looked any deeper, I'd probably find some fresh sushi rolls.)

If Mitsubishi have done a Canada spec to fit cold weather they've messed up, when the op said "it's not that cold here" he really means it. Vancouver, BC isn't much different a climate to Portland or Seattle. They certainly don't get the harsh winters seen on the east coast of Canada/USA.

Oh and surely MRVRsport gets some points for effort there haha.

It certainly is worth figuring out if there are certain Canadian spec RVRs that don't have external coolers and which trim levels do or don't. One can always be installed... its about $400 USD (you'll need a new cooler, the one that looks like 2 cans of tuna stacked on top of each other that has the connectors for external tubes), but all models do have a cooler of some sort.
