Post [How-To] Remove Side-Mirror Glass & accent Cover : Outlander Sport (ASX / RVR)

If you ever wondered how to disassemble those side mirrors, here's how >

To remove the Glass

Tools needed -
Flathead screwdriver

Step 1:
Tilt the top of the glass inward as far as you can go, so you can peek into the bottom of the glass frame...

The glass piece is held in place by two pressure C-clips at the bottom >

Step 2:
Slip your screwdriver towards either one of those clips and give it a twist to pop/release.

Once done, hold onto the glass and pull down & out.

Back of Glass frame >

NOTE: The two black wires are for the heating element.

To Remove the front "accent" Cover

Step 1: (The Glass MUST have been removed before hand, see above)
Using a flathead screw driver, depress the four pressure tabs holding the cover on - from the inside.

Step 2:
Once that's done, just lift up and off.

Thank you sir.

(Took me awhile to figure it out, so I thought - might as well help someone in the future from scratching their own head for so long.)

Well, I'm just trying to follow your lead with your most excellent KIDO coilover kit - installation and Review.

Thank you.

And, special mention has to be given to Burtonrider1002.
He was the one who clued me in on the fact that Outlander's side-mirrors were the exact same unit as ours. THAT helped me a great deal.

A BIG thanks to Burton! LINK

Hey mRVRsport, any advice for getting the mirror back in place? I closed my door one day, it popped off and I haven't been able to get it back onto the white mounting bracket they way it was (it sits slightly off-center and I'm not able to move the mirror around without it popping back into a certain position).

you probably didnt have it placed in correctly to begin with, but it takes some finesse, took me a few minutes as well. best thing to do is use the power button to not have the mirror centered but moved a little towards the outside, put the top part in first since it has the hooks trust me, and then snap the bottom in, if you have the mirror slightly turned you can see the bottom portion as you fully snap it in
