Anyone Want New Side Mirrors?

http://media.mitsubishicars.com/rele...5-613b4cab8321

Every square inch of the Outlander Sport's sheet metal is completely new; in fact, the only exterior items carried over from the original Outlander SUV are the side mirrors.
Well, first off, that's an interesting tid-bit about the exterior body panels, but it also means that the full-size Outlander mirrors (possibly with integrated turn signals if you can find them) should be a perfect fit for our models.

I'm now on a quest to find a set of auto-folding mirrors.

Note: This is regarding the 2011 model year. Later years SHOULD work, but you should independently verify.

How did you read my mind!?
I'm in need of some because of THIS!

Good to know that I can find some alternatives to the actual OEM mirrors.
Thanks for sharing.

Regarding the Auto-Folding mirrors:

You will need a completely new/different control module AND wiring harness to make the auto-function work.
I think you need to sacrifice your stock module (to get the female connector socket) OR if you're willing to cut/re-splice the factory wiring to get the new CM to work..

My original thread on auto-folding side mirrors, HERE

> Credit goes to member fujing21 for finding the technical Links (in Chinese & with sexy girls so possible NWS, heads up) on how to get auto-fold feature to work with non equipped O.Sports/ASX/RVR.

I'll have to check the ETACS ECU thread for further, but I'm pretty sure that you can activate the folding mirrors option with a Lexia

Is that so..?
From the info on the links fujing21 provided, it looked like a function built-in on the side-mirror control unit.

Hmm.. I'll have to re-read all that chinese to be sure.

Burton, thank you for this post, again.
Because it really gave me an alternate option in sourcing a brand new replacement I needed..

I had thought about finding one from the junk yard... but, that was a headache in itself. And, you never really know what condition it's in until you get out there and look yourself, or worse having paid & it shipped to you with a NO-Return disclaimer only to find it in Less than desireable condition (or wrong fit.)

Also, I had visited the dealer for the exact unit for my 2013 SE driverside mirror and they were more than happy to quote me their cost - which came to be $631 with labor. Ouch!

Anyways, so I looked for a Outlander side mirror... I should be receiving a brand new unit in a day or two. Will report back on what I get and how it fits.

I needed one for the passenger side about 10 months ago as mine was knocked in a supermarket parking lot. I found one new on ebay. I am not sure that the seller was the same but the price is ($85). The quality is slightly lower than the original but it is much cheaper then the dealer supplied one (I am playing devil's advocate and risk that the dealer would have had the same quality).
Here is the current link for the passenger side:

and for 2 bucks more for the driver side:

Was anyone able to find just the replacement heated mirror? I've been searching for a while and couldn't find any stores/websites that sells it in Canada. Dealership wanted around $150 for just the mirror.

No, those heated mirror(glass) are like unicorns!
I wanted to just replace the glass too, but it was not to be found.

You're better off just getting the whole unit and take the glass off of it. That's what I ended up doing.

Outander 2 mirrors fit but

It has been suggested that the 2nd gen Outlander side mirrors are plug-and-play fits for our RVR/OS. They are almost identical, the wiring harnesses are different. One has to rewire them to make it work (no big deal as the wires are color coded the same way). In the attached images the black mirror is a damaged one from my RVR and the silver is from a 2010 Outlander 2 I pulled from (for CAD 20) as a spare.
