Eyelid with DRLs (just an idea)

Thank you mRVRsport and Wesley_Eng for the suggestions and help from this custom DRLs thread:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ou...der-sport.html

I have success to light up the LED strip around the headlights. Inspired by this idea, what if we point the LED strip toward the parking light reflector area from outside of the headlight:

and this is the result:

It lights up very well and highly visible. If there is a way to create a small custom eyelid for headlight which will hold the LED strip on the outside surface of the headlight, it will be a very good OEM look DRLs effect.

Please let me know if there is a way to create a small custom eyelid which will hold the LED strip. Decals won't work because it is too soft to hold the LED strip in place.

Thank you,
PT

How about just shoving it in the marker light hole on top and feed it down the light?

Thank you Jc32ct and Hawaii_Dave for the suggestions.

Jc32ct:
There is nothing to hold it in place inside the headlight thru the marker hole. This is why many people just place it outside on the top of the headlight.

Hawaii_Dave:
Let me try the silicone. Not sure if it can stand in the heat well. Still need to have a piece of cover between the LED and the hood.

Thank you both again.

i think what you want to do is to open up the headlight, usually by baking at a low temp to get the adhesive to let loose and place the LED's inside.

looks really janky otherwise.

Here are some examples of what Landshark has suggested (some would be illegal here as currently wired):

If you do not want to make yours you may buy a custom product including a Xenon upgrade (pricey though and I only suggest this for those, who do not have OEM HID head light. The xenon lamp will not give you the "super wide" reflector, it uses the base model's headlight assembly)

This site has models that use the OEM HID "super wide" assembly:

I have purchased a LED replacement bulb (the one from IJDMTOY (it has 360 light and like 12-16 leds) and used it to replace the normal bulb for that top corner daytime runner light. Honestly, with the clean light output, and the top ridge looks very similar to this without much effort. It is not as pronounced, but very similar in effect.

Where to purchase?

I have been looking all over for some after market headlights like halos or something and I cannot find anything anywhere for my 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport other than http://avantgardeid.com but I never hear anything back from them. Does anyone know where to purchase any after market headlight assemblies because I don't have the skills or equipment to customize myself.

please don't halo - its not a BMW, and any cars with halos look like BMW-wannabes straight out of the Pep Boys rice aisle.

have some dignity, man!
