Cabin noise

I am new to the Mitsubishi family with a 2012 Outlander Sport ES. My only complaint about the OS would be the amount of cabin noise for a newer vehicle.

Am I the only person with the issue?

Has anyone looked under the carpet to check the amount of sound deadner that came from the factory?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the club.

Yes, the topic has been discussed before.
The "sounds" you're witnessing is due to the fact "Mitsu loves to Let In the pure harmonics of the driving experience + road&track noises**

Cabin Noise

Thanks for the information.

Has anyone added DYNOMAT to the inside of the cabin?

I did the whole rear and the hatch and stuffed pillow batting in all the crevasses as well, I need to do the door still though, going to try and make some time when I am off for the new year...

I think I am going to look into how much work it would be to place DYNOMAT on the inside firewall and the front drivers / passenger front area. That seems like that is where most of the ensign and road noise come from.
I think that if I remove the seats and kick panels I should be able to get the car part out of the wat enough to access the areas I think should have DYNOMAT.

Thoughts?

Great idea.
Please remember to take pics!

I've already checked the front doors and rear seating area >

Not much there but a few tiny patches of "squirted on" sound dampening polymer beside the fuel pump/access panels.

Basically sounds like a snare drum when you tap on the metal under there...
